  1. It's because he's "redistributing" it by putting it on YouTube.
  2. But to be fair, Howry/Eyre performed admirably especially for their contracts. Eyre wasn't good, and he was terrible for his contract.
  3. DJ Gallo angrily responds to Charlie Weis's BCS gripes WARNING: If you like Notre Dame, you probably won't enjoy the article
  4. Can you even pay for game highlights/footage if you wanted to?
  5. He wasn't very good last year and makes a lot of money. He had a couple of injuries last year also. His weight was a obvious problem as well. Yes, and he'll be 35 next year. These things aren't likely to just disappear, and they're more likely to get worse.

  7. Ryan being part of the Cubs team in any way while the Cubs won the world series. Now THAT, would be the greatest thing. Harvey or Theriot?
  8. Any way to isolate his NL managing time?
  9. Thinking out loud: Would winning the bidding for Daisuke make us more likely to land Kuroda? Would we want to go after multiple Japanese starters? What if we lose out on Daisuke and win the bid for Iwamura, would a fellow Japanese player make Kuroda more likely to come here?
  10. Before he hurt his finger in July, it looked like he would be added to the 40-man and promoted to the Cubs' pen. Still, he was born in the 70's. Are teams really going to be knocking down the door to take him? Why not just wait to see how the offseason unfolds?
  11. Rocky Cherry?
  12. You don't see the difference between pine tar for a grip on a bat, and banning a pitcher from using foreign substances? If he's using the pine tar to alter the motion of the ball, then yes, that's a problem. But if he's using it to get a better grip on the ball, then he's doing nothing different than the batter is doing. The problem is that's an impossible line to draw. Much easier to do on a bat(George Brett).

  14. O_O is now last in the league in points and tied for 2nd place with a 5-2 record.
  15. I just tried to make one for NSBB and didn't have any success. Definitely a worthwhile idea though.
  16. Interesting. Definitely supports the "Gold Rush" theme this week. I love the gold pants, but I've never seen the gold jersey tops, I'm excited. This has the potential to be amazing.
  17. That's a large overstatement on both sides.
  18. When considering trading for a player it doesn't matter what he once was. It matters what you think he's going to do in the future. And to quote myself from before, Just off the top of my head, I'll take Pujols, Howard, Cabrera, Hafner, Wright over ARod any day of the week. I realize that you have to take a players position into account as well but you must take age into account as well. Where would you play Pronk? 1B. If Ryan Howard can play 1B, Pronk can too. I think if he were a viable option, Cleveland would've given him more of a shot considering their lack of first basemen. and dhed whom? There are some surprisingly bad DHs out there. He's played less than 5 games there in 2 years. And this year they had 6 different people play the position and Hafner was easily last on the list in PT(3+ games).

  20. The two aren't mutually exclusive though. There's a difference between playing a bunch of close games, beating several good teams, and not losing at all; and playing a bunch of close games, not beating very many/any good teams, and getting whacked by the best team you played.
  21. OSU also beat some good teams that year. I suppose that would depend on your definition. They beat a decent Texas Tech team in the opening game, dominated Washington State in week 3 (easily their most impressive win as the Cougs went to the Rose Bowl that year) then didn't play anyone else worth a crap until October 19th when they edged Wisconsin by five (the Badgers went 8-6...then again, they lost to IU). (Along the way, they beat Cincinnati, who went .500, by four and Northwestern, who won three games, by 11.) They damn near lost to Penn State at home, who won 9 games but were far from world-beaters, should have lost to a 7-win Purdue team (that beat Western Michigan by four) in a game that was luckier than anything ND has had in the last two years, then had Illinois (5-7 that year) take them to OT, then needed one of the worst officiating calls of the last decade to win the national title. They beat Wazzou (10-3), Penn State (9-4), Michigan (10-3), and Miami (12-1). That's the difference between that OSU and Notre Dame. I could give a crap if teams almost win or barely win, it's about who you beat, and as of now that's 4 games in 1 season that are better wins than any of the 15* wins of the Charlie Weis era. *GT and PSU have a chance to make this standard, likely at the lower end.
  22. Thanks Serena. Can't say I agree with Pie being lower than Gomez and Martinez, and I think you could make a case for him being better than Fowler, Ellsbury, and to a lesser extent Rasmus. It's like they stopped paying attention to what happened to him at the All-Star break or something.
  23. OSU also beat some good teams that year.
  24. Would it be alright if someone posted the CF list? I'm curious to how Pie went from being a consensus Top-35 prospect in all of baseball to not making the top 10 for his position.
