  1. I'd like Sosa's 600th not to come on a GS in this inning, plz.
  2. Well, ESPN is reporting Schmidt is going to have shoulder surgery tomorrow.
  3. I'll be a lot happier if he does it against someone else. I hope he goes 0-12 in this series.
  4. Maybe it's a comfortability issue, but I can't imagine hitting the bases with my left foot. when making left turns it seem natural to push off the base with the right foot. Like when making a high speed left turn in a car - all the weight is shifted to the right side. As a matter of simple physics, it seems like hitting the bases with your left foot would cause some balance issues and slow you down.
  5. Wow, that's way back.
  6. Winner. I don't care for soccer, but you just got my vote.
  7. I think Soto has a shoulder issue and hasn't been catching. He caught on Friday and yesterday (had Saturday off but PH). Well if he is healthy, he sure looks like a more attractive option than Hill.

  9. So if someone isn't present for an argument one day, and participates in a similar argument later, they should be subject to condescension and derision? You complain about not getting votes, but you behave like someone who doesn't care what others think of them. Do you really not care, or do you want to be known as a knowledgeable poster or an acerbic ass? It's a shame that someone with as much to offer as you seems bent on alienating himself.
  10. That is true, but even correct points are more effectively made when presented in a civil manner. The content of an argument is lost somewhat when it is conducted in a caustic tone.
  11. perhaps posts like this: are turning people against you actually its probably when i call someone an idiot or say they do [expletive] things. You know, putting the thinking before the speaking usually helps with that.
  12. Tree's post in the Nomar trade thread was my all-time favorite.
  13. Hes out of options though, so after they call him up hes there to stay or they risk losing him. He also seems like an all or nothing guy at the plate from the last time I seen his stats. He has no idea how to take a walk. His OBP is terrible, but he's putting up a .932 OPS on the year. He's already got 19 homers on the year. I'm sure he could definitely put up better numbers than Skip Schumaker. Maybe he'd be a good player to use off the bench when you need a homer, a la G. Hill.
  14. perhaps posts like this: are turning people against you Yeah, MOJ is not a nobody, and posts like that aren't going to win you any support.
  15. How cogent is my Wolves of the East example? Very. Gutting the entire team for Kobe isn't a good idea. If the Bulls enter next season with something like Duhon-Bryant-Nocioni-Brown(?)-Wallace, I don't think they're much better off, and they are certainly worse off long term. I would think Kobe could be had without totally gutting the team. maybe Gordon, Deng and Duhon/Hinrich for Kobe and a throw-in. Then draft the best available PG. That would leave Conley/Law/Hinrich/Duhon, Bryant, Nocioni, Thomas and Wallace. I think if Bryant were aquired, it would negate the need to draft a scorer like Julian Wright. Waht Kobe was missing in L.A. post-Shaq was a good point and a competent inside game. He would have both in that scenario, IMO. I think any deal for Kobe, the 9 pick goes to the Lakers. Yeah, I re-thought that after I posted. So would a Hinrich/Kobe/Nocioni/Thomas/Wallace team really be that bad? I don't think so. I am not the biggest fan of Kirk runnning the offense, but the defense would be spectacular, and less of the offensive burden would be on Hinrich.

  17. In all your optimism, you're forgetting that the Earth will not be able to support that sort of population if humans average a 107 year lifespan. If nobody dies, the population will continue to grow, and the quality of life for everyone will decrease. We will have more pollution, more waste, and new diseases, and therefore the average lifespan will decrease. I highly doubt that a 107 year average lifespan is possible. That is assuming there will be no wide scale population control, which is inevitable, IMO.
  18. I noticed that 99.7% of the stories he posts about politics and international events concern themselves with Muslims. I also made no judgement about this practice, so simmer down now Well if Christian, Hindu, or Jewish zealots are letting 12 year olds saw people's heads off, I'd love to know and I'd for sure post about it. isnt' there big world news happening in China, Africa, Japan, Russia, etc, South America? Not much of the kind that I'm interested in. Do you have to be a fan of every team in the MLB because you like the Cubs? Should I chastise you for not caring about those other teams so much? You don't have to be a fan of other teams to follow what's going on around the league.
  19. Why don't you get high on Sean Marshall? Everybody is doing it. Just looking at his picture is enough for a contact high.
  20. what does the winner get? out of Iowa? Ah, the greatest gift an Iowan can receive. You get my vote, Bob.
