  1. I am no admirer of WJ, but the NL central has produced the NL world series representative the past 3 years. 2 of those 3 resulted in sweep losses, and the playoffs are largely a crapshoot, but it's not like the NL Central has been little league or anything.
  2. The man is going to need 2-3 days off after this series.
  3. What always happens to Michael Weurtz. Streakiness.
  4. Now don't get all apoplectic. Just because he is newsworthy doesn't mean everyone has to like it.
  5. Your post is a moronic idiot. It was the proper matchup for sure. But Ohman blows.
  6. And BBTN. They're all strapping on their kneepads as we speak.
  7. And can't throw strikes. Bad calls in that AB not withstanding, Ohman has zero control, and is the last guy out of the pen I want to see with multiple runners on base.
  8. Do we have any relievers who do throw a lot of strikes? Marmol! :) 2 days ago? He had no business pitching 2 days ago.
  9. There shouldn't be. He's been our best player for 3 years. Best position player. I'd argue Big Z as the best Cubs player though during that time period. In 2005, I think Lee has to get some credit. From 2004 to 2006, and thru 2007 so far, Aramis has been far superior. Lee wasn't very good in 2004. Lee wasn't a star in 2004, but to say he wasn't very good isn't accurate.
  10. There shouldn't be. He's been our best player for 3 years. Best position player. I'd argue Big Z as the best Cubs player though during that time period. In 2005, I think Lee has to get some credit. Lee was the best player by far in 2005, but over the course of the past 3 seasons, ARam has been more valuable.
  11. We have people on this board that say the same kind of stuff though. The Adam Dunn perception out there is weird. The only thing wrong with him (other than his defense) is the fact that his numbers seem to be on the decline. His OPS is higher this year, but he is on a hot streak right now, and his splits suggest he is a first half player. Over the past 3 seasons, July has been his best month, and he has faded badly in August/September/October.
  12. If all the Brewers are giving up is Gwynn, Wise and a a prospect, I have to imagine Krivsky's phone is going to be exploding with GM's looking to get in on this.
  13. If the prospect is Gallardo, it makes the deal look a lot better. But wouldn't Gallardo be the centerpiece in the package that the Reds would get back? Usually when trades say, "and a prospect," it usually means that it's just a fill-in to the deal. It's way overdue for Krivsky to make a terrible deal with us. I doubt the Crew would trade Gallardo. Especially now. With Sheets injured, trading Gallardo even for Dunn would be really helping the Cubs cause. I would think they can hardly afford to trade away any MLB pitchers right now.
  14. Wow. He's making a run at Littlefield and Bowden for the title of stupidest GM in the game.
  15. It makes them better, but nothing to get on the ledge over.
  16. Yeah, losing Wise on top of Sheets really weakens their staff, especially since they had to pull Gallardo out of the pen.
  17. Que? How's this known? Someone that has close relations to the Brewers just said the deal is near official. I think I am going to die inside. http://www.realgm.com/boards/baseball/viewtopic.php?t=3284&start=0 I'll definitely give up on the division chase if true, but I'd rather wait for something more substantial. Conceding the division if the Brewers get Dunn is ridiculous. It's not like he's ARod or Vlad or something. I know people love Dunn around here, but c'mon.
