  1. That’s a sneaky good acquisition but I have to wonder why a guy with those numbers could fly under the radar.
  2. I’m giving Jed some healthy credit where it’s due. Nobody expects the number of pitching injuries we’ve had but Jed’s response has been to chip away at it before the deadline and then make some quality moves at the deadline. He stepped up and acted to address the problem. Will it all work out? I don’t know. But I’m a fan of how the FO has dealt with this.
  3. ABS has shown just how terrible umps are calling balls & strikes.
  4. I wasn’t a huge fan of Mo once I saw the league adjustment to him.
  5. Nico absolutely needs to challenge that and ABS isn’t new enough anymore for that to be an excuse. Bregman may have been better lately but he simply hasn’t done what we acquired him to do. Those are huge situations that turn games and these are veteran pro players. This game needs to be a W and it isn’t.
  6. The one before he didn’t though. For him to be worth that acquisition I need to feel good when he comes up with runners in scoring position and I don’t. I’m not alone in that either.
  7. Unfortunately so is Bregman, in spite of recent success. He’s here to get runs home in high leverage situations exactly like these.
  8. Nico’s gonna lose some sleep unless the Cubs figure out how to scratch one across. That’s for sure.
  9. There needs to a strong, iron clad salary cap and if that means an empty line in between 2026 and 2028, then so be it.
  10. It’s disappointing to see we aren’t really taking advantage of home field.
  11. Frustrating. You get a decent pitching performance and can't do crap with it.
  12. There’s just a really low chance of holding a one run lead with these bullpen arms. Bases loaded, Happ up. That’s where the game needs to be won. Forget lock down pitching, it’s not there.
  13. That sucked but meh, we beat the Cards 2/3 in their building and Brewers/Phils lost. My sadness meter is manageable right now.
  14. And regression of attendance. Although nobody can say what’s a better thing to do in that city.
  15. It’s days like today that has me pining for our lost starters too. Imagine if it’s Horton or even Steele on the mound pitching at 80%. That’s an easy sweep.
  16. It’s a tough road to put up a W when Taillon starts.
