    Don’t wanna throw too much cold water on a fun day but to win the series we have to go through Burns, a legit top starter.

    10 runs, 5 run lead. I usually don’t like to say this but if they lose this game I might have to be done with the Cubs for awhile.

    I tend to think this patchwork of bullpen arms just isn’t good enough, rather than CC is mismanaging them. And this is it. These are the guys who have to hold leads in the later innings, and have to keep a deficit manageable when our starters falter. So I’m putting it like 90% lack of talent, and 10% CC. Sure he could make a better move here and there, but overwhelmingly he’s trying to cook dinner with empty cupboards.

    They’ve played themselves into a position where missing the playoffs is a possibility. Where they go from here ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ This has been one weird ass rollercoaster season. 10 game winning streaks, 10 game losing streak. Locked in the top WC seed. Teetering on the edge of losing it. Fighting a plague of injuries all along the way.

    I agree with you. They have what appears to be an entire bullpen full of 100 MPH fireballers though. We had these guys nailed down and just let them get up off the mat. Some days I question my sanity being a Cubs fan.

    Ain’t that a kick in the nuts. Sailing to a 2-1 series win decent road trip. Instead limping away with a 2-4 trip wondering how the hell we can get this relief staff to hold leads.
