    This pitching staff has been a nightmare all year and part of me feels like they’ve done an amazing job getting this far. The other part of me says there has to be something the coach/trainers are doing wrong. It’s too much of a disaster to just ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ and say that’s baseball.

    If he can’t touch 100 he’s cooked. Not sure if he’s got that in him but he’s not going to overwhelm anyone at 96 obviously.

    Total ass. I guess 2/3 ain’t bad. What is CC saving his BP for? They all suck either way.

    I just don’t believe in Shota anymore but if he proves me wrong, OK.

    Just my opinion, but Civale should be starting tonight instead of Shota. I don’t like this at all. He’s likely going to get shelled. Maybe the Marlins pitcher will live up to his name.

    The only logical conclusion is that he was always a great player and only the Brewers knew it.

    It is apparently impossible for the Cubs to score and put up a zero the next half inning

    You know what I really hate? Injury recovery timelines. It’s my new most hated thing.

    I’m rooting for these guys regardless. It’s such a fun offense to watch. I’m glued to the TV because of the bats and the glove work. I can’t recall a Cub team with a bigger disparity between hitting and pitching. It’s a shame. Part of what got us to that 98% probability is pitching that we are unlikely to see the rest of the way. It doesn’t help that we have 3 more series against playoff teams.

    They’ll squeak in and be easily dismissed. Nobody will consider that a success. Just making the playoffs is no victory for this club. The bar was much higher than that.

    Just lose 5-0 to Miz like everyone else.

    He’s done so much I feel almost silly criticizing him. But yes, that was disappointing.

    Rolison did his job tonight.

    The only guy I remotely want to see come out of that bullpen is Civale. All the others are a 3 run bomb or a screaming double in the gap with runners on that they walked.

    Overall the refs have let holding become a nearly optional call except in blatant cases. It does seem like there’s bias involved too.

    I mean, they are bottom barrel pitching; that’s an entire leg of the stool gone. It’s great to have such an amazing offense and defense but there’s no world where this team competes in the playoffs with a staff full of fluff.

    I always had the idea that Ashby is a starter who the Brewers somehow convinced he’s just a BP arm.
