  1. I still can't understand why Steve Trachsel was even added to this roster. It made no sense to me the day it happened, and it makes no sense to me now that his "pitching" is basically the difference between us resting our good players and now having to play for our lives in the final series.
  2. Here's an article on tonight's loss: http://www.newsday.com/sports/baseball/mets/ny-spmets0928,0,4460076.story?coll=ny_home_xpromo
  3. They led by 7 on Sept. 12th. It's the biggest collapse in history for that short a period of time, apparently. It's huge. I think the Cubs' '69 collapse wasn't close -- something around 5 1/2 games as of Sept. 1st or something.
  4. That Saturday game is Harrang, right? Might not be the best game to go to. I think it's going to take until the very last game to do this thing -- or we blow it. I don't know what's going to happen in Milwaukee though. But for the Cubs I have exactly ZERO confidence in them, at all. With the magic number now at 2, it'll be hard for the Brewers to stay alive till Sunday. I'll leave it at that. I just don't have confidence we can win a game. Sorry, but this Marlins series beat all the confidence out of me. Will the Crew lose 2? I don't really know. Look in social for a whole thread about davhern's avatar, people. Don't be satisfied with just that small pic
  5. I thought Cap has dropped his last 10 decisions, and that the "Cap appearance = Brewers loss" streak is actually longer. Like about 20. I'm too lazy to look up the actual numbers. It's a bunch though 8-)
  6. Even if the Cubs did choke this thing away, it would in no way compare to the magnitude and depth of the Mets choke. Apparently there has never been a team that lost as big a lead in September as they have, ever. Blowing a 3-game lead in the final week does not compare to that.
  7. ....and the idiot Brewer post-live crew just showed Bartman. Whatever retards.

  9. I would be nice for the Cubs to take 2/3 from the Reds and do their own work for a damn change. Do the Reds sit around and throw bullpen pitchers just so they can line up Arroyo and Harrang for us every time? That's freaking bullcrap man. Those [expletive] jerks.
  10. Sheets can't go, so Cappy gets the call. Cappy has actually been alright lately, but I believe in games he has pitched the Crew have lost something around 10 in a row. Maddux needs to channel his younger self for one more game.
  11. How pissed must the Padres be that the Cubs are sliding in while they fight for their lives with the Rockies breathing down their necks for the wild card. Rockies have won 10 in a row and are leading again tonight. And it sucks a lot worse to be a Mets fan then a Cubs fan right now. It would be funny as hell to see them miss the playoffs and get some real belated 1969 karma payback. I would *love* for the Mets to blow it. Minaya top 5 GM my ass.
  12. I don't know. I wonder if the Brew Crew is just getting a little tired. It's been a long time since their last day off now. Advantage Cubs. I can't believe the Crew is choking with us losing.
  13. SOAP DROPPING AWESOME! NOBODY WANTS TO WIN THE DIVISION!
  14. We need to win 1 game, and the Brewers lose 1. And that's all. If the Pads were to take 2/3, which THEY will need or they're in trouble, then we could get swept and still win it. If they lose tonight....then, if we win ONE game, or they lose ONE game, then we are guaranteed at least a tie, correct? No we would clinch the division. It's only one of tho happening. If the Brewers lose today the Cubs magic number goes down to 2. Then if either the Cubs win or the Brewers lose once, it goes down to 1 which would mean the Cubs would, at worst, clinch a tie for the division. I think you're right. One more out, and the Crew would need to sweep with us getting swept to win outright.
  15. I'd use "Big Balls" if I were a closer. Come to think of it alot of those AC/DC songs would be cool. Big Balls would be funny.
  16. ROFL. Oh come on, you can't be serious. "The crowd getting BEHIND their Brewers." Christ most of them have left!! Look behind the damn plate for goodness' sake!

  18. You might be right. The Pads are likely to need all the rest of their games the way things are going. If it knocks the D-bags out of the playoffs, all the better. God yes. That's another team I cannot stand.

  20. What? Why? ehem. ....because I didn't know Bell was good
  21. Wow, Bell is soap droppin' good.
  22. It's probably just a simple table that matches various swear words with an alternative. I'll bet Tim could configure it to say other things if he wanted.
  23. Bell has a date after the game. With Prince. At IHOP.
  24. They should have left that other dude in.
