    The game last night was in high-def, and it looked good. I don't know if they'll be able to put all 3 games on Wed in high-def though.

    I'll take Chip over Joe I'll take Chip over Stockton. Dick Stockton is brutal. every time I hear Stockton's voice I think Bears and Lions for some reason I'll take him over Joe Buck for a season. Even if he is brutal. I just don't want to hear Joe Buck call a Cubs game, at all costs.

    Rockies take down the Phils. Cubs nip the DBacks in a 9th inning rally in game 5. Cubs/Rocks NLCS.

    He hasn't, it's a load of crap. He was with the Sox before they won the WS, and then he was pigeonholed @ Pitt for several years. On a side note, for DirecTV HD subscribers, hope you got your b-band converters installed, because the TBSHD channel is now up & running! 8-)

    lawl...Good one liner from Stone just now. A caller called in and mentioned how Hub had said this and how stupid it was. Stone - "Right. Well, Hub does football." It was funny at the time, trust me. Haha, I'm sure it was :) As for sacrilege.....LOL, the Cards "sacrileged" themselves all the way to a championship last year doing exactly this, so I guess bring on the religious desecration!

    then where the hell is Aramis supposed to bat when we get ARod? hmm, well Lee could bat 2nd with A-Rod 3rd. happy? only if Murton leads off why, when we'll have Jose Reyes to lead off? Alright, we'll just move Dunn to 6th then.

    It could also have a lot to do with the run differential and the perception that AZ has done it with smoke and mirrors all year. A few of those guys, namely Neyer, aren't exactly dumb. I suppose, I'd need to hear it specifically though. Because it seems like every time I turn on these talking heads they always pick either 1) last year's winner, or 2) the team with the most "veteran presence." It's like a script, just follow along and don't deviate.

    I hate when ESPN picks us. It always brings bad tidings. They suck at predictions. I'll guarantee you all of them just think Cubs have more vets, therefore they have the advantage -- which is really just bunk. If that was the case then teams like the Angels and Marlins of '03 would never win.

    Probably not. But hey, at least they overpayed for a good player this time! True and let's hope his year continues like Roast said! No more leg muscle tears, please. He's a very healthy body, so I think he has a chance to sustain his performance for a tad longer than some other players would -- provided he stays relatively injury-free. No question we overpaid though.

    $300 million will come in the first 5 seconds of the broadcast. The others will follow Bartman and the Goat. Get ready to see goats running across your screen at every break in the action. You know the networks will do everything they can to play up the curse. Stupid network idiots.

    I think the Pads take this game, and it doesn't matter because the Phillies absolutely destroy them in the NLDS. I'm gonna wait until we actually beat the DBacks to worry about who we match up with better in the NLCS.

    I don't disagree. I think we deserve it more than anyone else on the planet, I really really do. Oh -- I agree, I hope they win it for your son so he doesn't have to live in frustration like we have had to.

    Love his ability to throw people out from LF. Love his hitting when he gets on a streak. Hate his hitting when he's not on a streak. He swings at some of the crappiest pitches ever. Then he hits some of the crappiest pitches ever out. ...I have to admit, I love it when he hits a dinger and all you see are those ultra-white teeth beeming back at you from under his hitting helmet. I dunno, is that wrong? Hehe.....other teams sure don't like it when he does that.

    Just imagine if Dusty were managing us this year. He's probably call Dave Veres and ask him to pitch. Not to mention he would have our starters so tired by the time October rolled around, their arms would be about to fall off.

    I don't know if we have much choice but to do this. Lou obviously isn't going to put the ball into Marquis' hands unless he really has to. I think YES, I would take Z on 3 days rest over Marquis on normal rest, though obviously I would rather Marquis simply not suck. That's not gonna happen, so Z it is.

    When it's like this weekend with all those upsets brewing, i find myself vegging out on my sofa just being completely useless and flipping between games. It's great. NFL is obviously not as exciting to me with the Bears sucking, but there are some great stories and I still love it. I'd probably go: 1) Cubs 2) College FB 3) Bears/NFL 4) Anticipation of NBA That's where I'm at.

    It depends how many starters the Cubs go with. If they go with 4 starters, Marquis will certainly make it. If they go with 3, then they probably leave him off in favor of another reliever. I think he's gonna make it, and we're going to be in that game thread just freaking out like madmen when he pitches. Good times.
