The big problem with Muschamp, from what I've seen, is the development of players. Sure, not all the losses this year were directly a result of poor coaching decisions, but Florida should not have been in the position to lose those games. For a ridiculous number of years (dating back through Urban Meyer and even Ron Zook), UF has been getting fantastic recruiting classes. That's not changed under Muschamp. However, what has changed is the performance on the field. The players simply haven't been developing and performing the way they should have and that has to be placed significantly (though not exclusively) on the coaching staff. I am typically very conservative when it comes to coaching changes, but I think it was time for Muschamp to go. Now the key is Florida making the right move to replace him and they have the tradition, location and money to get whoever they want. My uninformed prediction is Rich Rodriguez is their next HC and they get really good, really fast.
