  1. Lineup tonight: Happ - LF Suzuki - DH Bellinger - CF Morel - 3b Swanson - SS Busch - 1b Hoerner - 2b Tauchman - RF Amaya - C
  2. No, makes perfect sense! Even just growing up in Chicago, it was easier to watch games. For example, game starts at 8:40pm tonight...I could stay up until...11pm and be fine. This extra hour, all week, is a killer. What's annoying is that last week was my Spring Break! I could have stayed up!
  3. Framber Valdez is another pitcher (along with Bieber and Strider) who have a history of elbow injuries Doing some research, many teams refused to sign Framber as an IFA because they thought he needed TJS and already had a UCL injury.
  4. "Elbow soreness". He had dove earlier in another game and the Cubs took him out for precautionary reasons. Sounds like just a little knock.
  5. I'm a teacher, so the West Coast swing between late May - early August is a good time; I can stay up late without worry; the partner goes to bed and I can sip a bourbon and watch the game downstairs. But man, a 9:40, or even worse, a 10:10pm start...for a week straight? I just can't go to bed at 12am+ and then wake up at 5:30am and deal with 120 teenagers at my age any more. They're brutal. I can pull a SNF/MNF or something during the fall/winter knowing I'll go to bed at 11:45pm 2-4 times a season when the Eagles are on, but I end up missing, basically, a full week of Cub games because it's just impossible.
  6. Man, west coast series are brutal for the EST folk. Game starts at 9:40pm. Ugh. I'm alssp by 10:20. I hate being old!
  7. The "fans chant his name every at bat" is going to be a thing for Bellinger this year and that's really fun.
  8. That's his calling card. He is very patient at the plate and really patient about what/when to swing.
  9. Yep! He's a baby compared to other babies. His birthday is in April. He started last year at MB as a 17 year old.
  10. I refuse to give Spectrum another penny. Those guys are the *worst*. I've had many a battle with them. As weak as Windstream can be, it ain't Spectrum! But yeah, Metronet is the next switch. Only just got access to it in my area, and just finished my introductory on Windstream.
  11. I'm going to blame Windstream Internet in Lexington Kentucky for being real horsefeathers slow and pretend I had the thought first 🤣 But damn, we had the same thought! I just live in a sheltered world where only I could have a thought. Damn you @Bertz for thinking like a smart kinda guy.
  12. It was 1908 who said that (😉) but being confused for @Bertz isn't a bad thing. Frankly, a compliment.
  13. That's fine, but then when are you going to use Cuas to begin with? It's the mid-portion of the game, you *dont* have the bases loaded, and you have a hitter who is far worst against RHP. As I said in another post, this is the *exact* situation you have Cuas for, someone who is a designed righty-killer. We can ask a bigger question of "is Cuas the guy you want in that role?" But once you make the choice to roster Cuas...this is when you are going to use him.
  14. Ump is really frustrating. A completely inconsistent zone.
  15. Eh, considering he couldn't find a competitive pitch in 4 of his first 5 throws, asking Cuas to deal with a bases loaded situation probably wasn't a super great choice in and of its own right. Even with a better match up, Cuas had shown no reliability to throw 3 strikes. Rock and a hard place once Cuas was that bad off the bat.
  16. Yes. Good decisions can result in bad outcomes. Just like bad decisions can end in good outcomes. Counsell is hired to weigh the outcome chances, not be a psychic. Going to Cuas makes sense process wise. That Cuas was completely worthless there was a Cuas issue and not a Counsell issue.
  17. Cuas is on the roster for exact this spot. His side arm sweeper/fastball combo is a recipe to be a RHH neutralizer. Teo has 35+ points of wRC+ more against LHP, much worse against RHP. Cuas is built for that. Yeah, the control is an issue. But if you're going to roster Cuas, that's exactly when you deploy him. We can talk about his rosterability with the command issues, but that's a different discussion, IMO.
  18. Finally throws a competitive pitch that Muncy tattoos. Awful result.
  19. That was an awesome 4 and 2/3rds for Wicks when you take everything into account.
  20. Add Freeman to the list. Damn keep going Jordan.
