  1. This poll should just be PCA listed five different times.
  2. Keep yesterday's pile-on going, split the series, and go into Houston with some momentum.
  3. And yet somehow end up with multiple All Star games under his belt after being traded in a few years.
  4. Keller would be a marginal upgrade,l for the rotation, but enough of one to give the Cubs flexibility with Brown, Horton, and Boyd as far as inning limits go. He's also good enough to crack a Cubs playoff rotation. It can't hurt to kick the tires, but better options might be out there.
  5. The annoying this is, the M's and Cardinals seemed fine with it. Win, shitasses.
  6. The last one. It basically provides additional context based on things like park factors and league offensive environment in a given season.
  7. I wouldn't complain if Brown got moved to the bullpen after Shota returns, even if it's temporary.
  8. You've been around long enough to know that we've discussed everything on this forum from the Ricketts' political activities to how the Daytona Cubs needed to be moved due to being hurricaned out on a yearly basis to where Theo Epstein got his Starbucks to Tom Tunney's Cubs shakedowns to which players got the COVID vaccine. Sports are inherently political and intertwined with the rest of the world, like it or not. Feel free to disagree with other people's opinions, but trying to shut down a discussion on a website you don't own or moderate is kinda dumb.
  9. He was an athletic bean pole when drafted last year who also was a raw LHP in high school. The arm is clearly there for him to end up in RF, but I haven't seen anything about if he has the speed/routes to end up in CF. He has a long way to go developmentally, but the early results are promising.
  10. Something tells me I'm going to be equally regretful and grateful that I won't be able to watch this game when this one's over.
  11. Kipp and Mule, too! Also Noland, who seems like the kind of guy who gets written off in prospect lists and reports, but somehow goes on to have a 15 year journeyman career as a reliable but not great 5th starter/long reliever.
  12. I really, really, really want to see meaningful scouting reports on the lower level pitching prospects. It's great that we have a bunch of guys putting up good numbers in A-ball, but I'd love to be able to separate the wheat from the chaff.
  13. It's the reality of 3B in the modern era. The position is down league-wide. I hate that Shaw is struggling, but you can make a case that the Cubs are in a much better situation at 3B than half of the league based on his defense and potential at the plate.
  14. He might, but the Red Sox are five games back in the division, are holding steady in the WC race, and they just screwed up the Devers situation horribly to keep Bregman around. It's a nice idea, but I think the Red Sox are hanging onto him this season, even if it's just to save face.
  15. It's also worth pointing out that 3B sucks league-wide this season. Barely half the teams in MLB have a regular 3B who is producing positive WAR, and the trade candidates at the position are basically a left handed version of Matt Shaw in Ryan McMahon and a defensive black hole in Eugenio Suarez. It's less than ideal, but I'd rather let Shaw try to figure things out at the plate and focus on improving the rotation and bullpen.
  16. Generally speaking, I agree. However, I think Wiggins opens doors to trades that might otherwise be unthinkable. A high ceiling fireballer coming off a recent TJS and appearing healthy is the sort of thing that might make the Braves or Nats think twice if the Cubs call. Granted, it won't be 1 for 1, but a package involving Wiggins and someone like Ballesteros or Caissie as the headliners could put high level rotation pitchers within reach.
  17. Or Mo. Take your chances with him at C in the hopes that he ropes one down the line.
  18. Wicks strikes me as a change of scenery candidate; injuries have plagued him and he might be better off with a fresh start somewhere else. His trade value isn't super great, but I could see teams targeting him as a throw-in as part of a bigger trade. I frankly expect most teams' trade demands to begin with Wiggins. Assuming he keeps up his minor league performance, he should see time in MLB come August/September and he's one of the few pitchers in the Cubs' system you can project as a 2/3 if he stays healthy. The Cubs might view him as untouchable, but he's the sort of prospect who would bring teams to the table if you wanted to make a blockbuster deal. I'm a bit concerned that Kevin Alcantara might have hit a wall in AAA. Caissie at least rebounded from a poor start and seems to be back on track with his recent hot streak, but Alcantara is still scuffling. While I could see him be a common ask from other teams, I'd exercise caution.
