    Had very high hopes for Herz a couple years ago. Made was a mostly superfluous player in the organization with Hernandez, Rojas, Derniche, Vazquez, and Dansby manning short. It costs something to get something, so oh well. Welcome back Jeimer.

    When you first said Franklin, my first thought was Christian Franklin, and not Kohl. I would rather lose Christian.

    Barnhart would be most ideal, but it is rather unlikely to happen. He has been a nothing this year and I would hardly expect that to change.

    If it involves more than 2 homers over the next season and a half, he could play every game and bat 5 times per and still fall short.

    Even Barnhart’s framing has been trash. Everything close to an edge he yanks back to the middle of the plate. Can’t imagine that helps the pitcher out.

    Really happy that Barnhart gets the start over Amaya. Maybe knowing he will get zero run support will make Kyle really buckle down, play with a lot of outward emotion, and pitch well tonight.

    If I was a Cubs pitcher and it was my day, I would shudder seeing Barnhart and Hosmer in the lineup. Maybe cup check the manager.

    Please jettison Barnhart into the sun. He is supposed to be a defensive catcher and he tries to backhand that ball? Can’t hit his way out of a wet paper bag to boot.
