  1. I know most of you would rather make love to a paper shredder than hear about something relating to my job - but...well..I guess go grab the paper shredder. I think this is relevant enough to post. Today before the game Rich Hill was throwing a side session. Rothschild was working with him on where he lands his right foot when he throws. He was apparently landing too far to the (facing the plate) left hand side of the mound or something. Plus he was still doing that sweeping-foot thing I think has been talked about in the past. Anyway - Hill tried it for about 20 minutes - said "it feels different, but it feels good." and apparently by the end of the session he got it because not only was Rothschild saying "perfect" after every pitch but his fastball was popping the mitt noticeably louder. Also, as for Howry - Rothschild was talking to Lester Strode and Strode asked what was wrong with Howry or whatever. He said that his shoulders were off-line. They were tilted at an angle when he threw instead of being level. That's all I've got. Anyway, thought it was worth sharing.
  2. Or other teams habitually keeping 6 spots open on their 40 man rosters just in case we come calling. they don't?
  3. no kidding. he wasn't doing terrible either. He was hitting better than lee up until today. Or ramirez. Or Soriano. Soriano's the only regular that has been worse than Pie has so far. Pie has a .200/.250/.200 line on the season so far. That's pretty terrible. At the same time, that doesn't mean I support him getting replaced, so hopefully this is just a couple day thing to try to get the offense kickstarted while Soriano and Ramirez are ice cold, and Pie will be back in there soon. Okay, you're right. I forgot he went o-fer the last game he played. Before that he was batting like .300 Regardless - averages, which are already moderately pointless, are even more so for the first month of the season. Hell, lee went from barely above .100 to batting in the mid three's today.

  5. Is it for sure that blanco is starting tomorrow or are you just guessing?
  6. If the way the fans acted during the brewers series was any indication - yeah, they're huge rivals now.
  7. I have a baseball signed by him. What happened to him being one of our top pitchers?
  8. Dont buy into it guys - this dude is a SHAM closer.
  9. NO way. They'd have to throw in ilgauskas before i'd even consider it.
  10. BUT AT LEAST IT COMES COMPLETE WITH A TOWEL TO THROW LMAO AMIRITE
  11. If you plan on losing, get it over with really quick so maybe I can have time to do the rest of my homework tomorrow. Kthanks.
  12. You realize this game took place about 9 hours ago, right?
  13. Fixed.
  14. I love the new sig, btw.
  15. That, actually, is beyond awesome.
  16. Ugh, why? This starter is a righty, as far as I can tell. Either Lou is already going away from him or Pie is hurting more than we thought from the HBP. Either way, I don't likey. Werd. This can't be good.
  17. I saw rich hill playing catch/pitching in the outfield prior to batting practice today. That's all I have to add. Go cubs.
  18. Todays game was fun to be at. They had me stationed in the bleachers - and aside from all the crazyness in the late innings in right field - it was an enjoyable game.
  19. I'm heading out to go work this game in about an hour or so. Good news is Wrigley doesn't allow brooms so I can stop all the brewers fans at the gate who try to bring them. I'm doing my part to keep the brooms away - Cubs, how bout you do something?
  20. Brewer fans are annoying. Especially when their team plays better.
  21. no, he really isn't Yes, he really is. I can only think of one other person on the team who plays shortstop and you can't be talking about Cedeno. Who is this anonymous shortstop? Cedeno. I know he's not white or gritty enough, but he's still no worse than Theriot. His past major league performances beg to differ. Tell me that you want to try DeRosa at short or make a trade - great, I'm ALL for that. Let's do it, but Cedeno isn't better than Theriot. He just isn't. Baloney. The last time cedeno had anything resembling consistant Major League playing time was 2006, and yes - he stunk up the joint. But he was TWENTY THREE. He was simply not ready for the big leagues. Then last year all he did was hit in the .340's for most of the year at AAA Iowa. He's proved all he can in Iowa - it's time to give him another chance in the big leagues. Cedeno is no worse than theriot and has a ceiling higher than theriot. The decision should be simple.
  22. Weelllll at least we won't get the fake rally i suppose. Fontenot, just K and end it plz
