  1. This is terrible. What the hell, wgn. I actually have a chance to watch a soapdropping cubs game and you soapdroppers break the soapdropping TV? Soapdrop.
  2. I don't mind keeping Gorzelanny in the game, we've been hitting pretty well against him. I just wish Soriano would have looked at 3-4 pitches before swinging. Why? He almost knocked that one out. I'm all for patience and such but if he see's a pitch he can hit out, by all means... AND WHAT THE HELL. GIVE ME MY GAME BACK. Oh god now there's no picture and he's back under water. WTF WGN.
  3. I'd say pretty average. Not quite as accurate with his curveball as he needs to be to really be effective, but at least a little better than before. Hope he figures it out. Thanks. He was pretty inaccurate in teh side session I saw the other day too. Reed Johnson was standing there watching th pitches go by like he was in the batters box and he almost got hit like 3 times. Ted let a few F-bombs drop after some of his releases. I don't know what it is - but he's having problems with letting some slip I think.
  4. Yes, he did. way to go ron. LOL I love ron santo so much. hahahaha.
  5. Yea, I forget who the sponsor was or what had to happen for their donation to happen, I just remember thinking that it would happen a lot and interrupt a lot of innings. I think Jiffy Lube will now donate $100 if a Cubs pitcher throws 95 mph or faster. And Walgreens donates $100 for every Cubs walk. That Cubs walk one wasn't a problem last year, but the 95 mph is the one I thought was ridiculous. It happened about 40 times during Z's last start. That really needs to stop soon. Eh, maybe they need to stop announcing it - but it's an awesome way to get some dough for JDRF.
  6. Wow - I've got a headache now thanks to that camera work. Ouch.
  7. lol I remember that show. I used to think those girls were hot when I was like 10.
  8. lol @ pirate defense. YAY THE SOUND IS BACK.
  9. Hooray for flying through an easy history test and making it home in time for the top of the 2nd! Also, is the sound muffled for you guys, too?
  10. I agree, but I don't remember him hitting any real bombs last year. This year it seems like he's really laying into the ball. Good to see.
  11. Wow. It's also somewhat relevant to note that his HR's haven't been cheapy's either. Yesterdays - while the wind was blowing towards left a little - was an absolute freaking bomb. His wrist is officially back, I think.
  12. Crowd Control I was standing against the wall, facing the fans, in the isle that the HR flew right over. I turned around as soon as i heard the crack of the bat and saw the fans in my section get wide-eyed. I knew it was coming my way and I didn't want to get hit by a line-drive. Then I realized I would probably look like a clown in the replay - luckily for me you can't tell who i am in that video thanks to it being so blurry. How'd you get that job? How many games do you do? Can you watch the game, are are you told to constantly looking to see if there is trouble? You can do every home game. But because of constraints of my school schedule I have to miss a couple - I'm doing something like 73 of the games. And it really depends on where I'm working. If I'm at a gate doing bag-check I don't see a single pitch. But that only happened to me once. Since then i've been in bleachers. In bleachers I have to stay facing the fans but nobody really gets upset if I look over my shoulder for important pitches. 3-2 counts, 2 outs, bases loaded, etc. As long as I dont stay turned around. Now, if I'm in the grandstands then I walk up and down the isles all game. And so when i'm walking down towards the field I can watch. Then if I'm really lucky I'll get an on-field job one day. But that, obviously, is usually reserved for vets. I'll probably be in bleachers all year though since I'm big and apparently have done a real good job there thus far.
  13. Yah, I was. They're the ones provided by wrigley.
  14. You have amazing eyes, rocket, you can see into the PAST! (I didn't wear my fanny pack today. Come to find out, it's not actually mandatory like they originally claimed it to be. Yay!)
  15. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v429/KingJME/LeeHomer.jpg Camera caught me just in time to see me turning around to watch the ball fly over my head. Thank god - because the look before that was one of pure confusion.

You can pick up applications at Gate K over the offseason (when they have it staffed - which is usually year round) or you can attend the job fair they have every year. Or you can do both like I did. I also sent in my resume through a contact I have at vineline. The easiest way to go about it is the Job Fair though.
  17. And Marmol's gone two days in a row now. Could get interesting. Don't see why there would be a problem with Marmol going 3 days in a row. I'm sure he's done it before.

  19. You should be able to see me in that video. I'm the moron in the white shirt, front row, turning around to face the field. The ball went almost right over my head. I turned around and gawked because the way the fans reacted i thought it was coming straight for me. Luckily it sailed over me by a good margin. The video is just such poor quality that everything is really blurry.
  20. Theriot would end up with one of those highschool-freshman spotty beards.
  21. Sham closer is doing pretty darn well. 3/3 in save attempts. So how long until he's experienced enough as a closer to be our closer?
  22. Probably. But it was the first time this season out of the three or so side sessions i've seen that Larry has even corrected anything.
