  1. Pie start against a lefty? LOL lou laughs in your face. Nice DP, lee.
  2. cubs getting leadoff his and stuff? wth?
  3. Funny thing is that Wagner really is right-handed. He only started throwing lefty at age 10 or 11 because he broke his right arm. Jesus, I wish I could just one day start throwing 100mph with my non-dominant arm. Have you actually tried throwing with your non dominant hand... maybe? Yes and I throw like a complete girl with my left hand.
  4. Listening to a cubs game while half-assing some homework. YAY! Also, YAY RONNY
  5. FTH is cobb doing? trying to flap his arms and fly out of the box. Those are awesome.
  6. Bull pucky. He waved at me when i opened the gate for him in the parkinglot.
  7. My fantasy team is not amused.

  9. I don't have a car in the city. As the game - My homework load found a way of doubling or tripling over night. Guess what I'm doing tonight :x Colidge iz h@rd.
  10. Why don't you go to a restaurant that is showing the game then? I know it's not ideal, but if you want to see the game badly enough... There is a hooters a couple miles from here - but I don't want to spend any money. I'll just deal with a crappy reception on the radio. Go to Hooters. Order a soda. Sit and watch the game. $2 for the soda. Tip the waitress a few bucks and for five bucks or so, you can watch the game. Ahh, this is a good idea. This may just happen. If you sit at the bar while you enjoy your soda they probably will mind less as you won't be taking up a spot on a table. Also, the bartender likely gets a tip share so the small tip for just the soda will bother them less as well. Of course, if they aren't busy then it may not matter either way. Yeah - I was planning on sitting up at the bar if I do go.

  12. Seriously, what the hell. Who taught him how to hit?
  13. They're selling them all over th freaking place. I honestly think I see them more often than cubs hats at games. They're definitely on sale outside the park - but I think they may even have some in some of th booths/shops in wrigley. I know they're sold outside though.

  15. #$%^&*()(*&^%$# CSN. Stupid dorm not getting a stupid station that's based in the same stupid city as this stupid college. Stupid.
  16. There's a tigers fan in my history class. I laughed at her.
  17. I think it's hilarious. Everyone hated Big Z when this happened ( I didn't really "blame" either of them, for what it's worth). But when Barrett got traded away all the sudden he became the A-hole who started the whole fight.
  18. I really liked barrett - I hope he comes back okay. On a semi-related note - I wonder how much his last injury had to do with the fact that he tanked offensively last year? I mean...One would think that taking a baseball full speed to th nads would mess you up for a while.
  19. I don't know about all that as I've never experienced it. But today was totally non-cub-like. Someone mentioned it after the pirates had their 5 run inning: this seems like the perfect fit for a game where we blow a huge early lead and never score again. But we did - this win actually makes me more excited than the others that we've won outright. I know people are going to have coronaries because we had errors but - lets face it. That happens from time to time. DeRosa was good defensively last year - not a gold glover, but he seemed (without looking up numbers) to be at least avg/slightly above avg. We aren't going to be this sloppy every game - but it's nice to know we can still win when we are.
  20. For a lot of players. But given Cedeno's makeup and skills, they probably aren't the best indicator for him. I addressed this a few pages ago. I would argue 500 AAA ABs in 2007 are a better indicator than 70 MLB ABs. I also addressed this a few pages ago. That's a funny way to skew the stats. In what way are those stats skewed?
  21. Grit. Reed Johnson, meet more playing time. Exactly what I was thinking. Of course they will ignore the fact that Pie is so fast he probably could have been home, tagged, and walked back to the dugout in the time it took Johnson to get there (not that johnson is slow by any means)
  22. Like i said: The only time he got anything resembling consistent playing time was 2006 - and he was 23 years old. He was not ready for the big leagues. He's proved everything he can in AAA and it's unlikely that he'll do any worse than Theriot is doing right now anyway - so why not just give him the playing time.
  23. .359/.422/.537 in triple A last year ignorance ](*,) Those are great #'s for the Iowa Cubs. However, I'm more interested in what he's continued to prove at the major league level - he sucks - year after year after year. YEah, you know, in all those consistent at bats he gets. The only year he got consistent big league playing time was 06 and he was TWENTY THREE. What more does he have to prove in AAA? Nothing. Let him play - he's not going to give you any less than Theriot, most likely, and he has the ability to give you much much better.
