  1. Welcome to the Forum! And I'm with vance - I'll watch because it's baseball.
  2. It would suck going into the last day before the regular season not knowing if you're going to make the roster. Pignatello's uncle was at the ballpark with us yesterday (he was part of the law enforcement team talking to us) and he said that to the best of his knowledge Carmen still hadn't received any word.
  3. Not that I've heard. I'm going to assume it goes to piggy but, again, I've heard no official announcement.
  4. Protection for Ramirez. He wants someone the pitcher will "fear," or respect, batting behind Ramirez to give him some protection. Therefore, against lefties - with whom Kosuke may have some problems - he will put Soriano in the 5 spot to provide better protection for Ramirez. Though, Kosuke is likely to succeed against Righties and thus he is adequate protection while allowing Soriano to hit in the leadoff spot. I don't know that I agree with that - but that's Lou's reasoning.
  5. He may have been embarrassed, but theres almost do doubt that at some point in the course of the season something will piss him off enough to blow his top. When...I don't know. That just depends how well/poor the team does I think.
  6. Kill it! It will be a BEAUTIFUL day the first time this falls off the front page.
  7. What if like, they have four stud pitchers that just didn't want to pitch on opening day? Show me a team that has ever had that happen.
  8. Also: you know you suck when your opening day pitcher had a 5 point era last year.
  9. Is it me, or is that ballpark ridiculously ugly?
  10. True. There will be a ceremony on the field where he receives like a mini-version of his statue and then he'll throw out the first pitch.
  11. I hope you have sunscreen and a good therapist. This may be the best advice i've ever heard.
  12. Too bad my Wood jersey is from when I was 10 and there is no way in hell it'll fit me.
  13. Probably a long time. They have a plexi-glass protector running about two feet up off where the wall juts out towards the field that, unless the fan is standing, completely protects them. Unless a pitcher really loses grip of one and puts it high up in the seats. That's good. But does the plexiglass inhibit the view? Do you have to look through it to see the game? What do you think? Well I don't know if the bricks are low enough that the plexiglass doesn't reach eye level. If I am paying decent money for those seats, I don't want to be looking through plexiglass the whole time. It's completely clear. It won't inhibit anything except maybe distorting a little bit of foul territory the slightest bit.
  14. I love how the LFer is on the infield dirt. haha.
  15. Holy crap I could hit a home run there.

  17. Apparently the game is also being broadcast live in Japan.
  18. i'll be flipping back and forth from ESPN2 to WGN, if only because i'll get the game in HD on ESPN2 Not that it effects you but I believe the ESPN2 broadcast is blacked out in chicago. At least someone mentioned that today when I was at wrigley. They could have been wrong.
  19. It took me a while to get used to today. When I first saw it I thought it was hideous. But it's growing on me.
  20. Nice, as long as it's over in about 2.5 - 3 hours we should have a nice clear window. Now, the ernie ceremony on the other hand...
  21. Over/under on how many times the starters (combined) throw more than 110 pitches this year?
  22. Ah, thankyou. I always wondered what they were there for.
