  1. This opening day sucks :(. I would usually just take my laptop to class and follow the game on gameday but the classes I have are not very friendly to laptops. I'll probably do it anyway. I hear ya. I have PE when the game starts. i was thinking about bringing the laptop, the only problem with that is i am a screamer...plus you can't turn up the volume... i am seriously thinking of writing my professor an email and honestly explaining why i will probably be absent on monday and seeing what he thinks about it...it is worth a shot anyway You know I was thinking about this. At least for my sports marketing class. I don't know...We'll see what I do. Back in highschool I always just brought a radio, hid it in a hoody, and had an earbud headphone in one ear, listening to pat and Ron. I may just have someone text me everytime something major happens. I don't know. I wish Opening day was a sunday. Not only because I could see it but I'd get to work it. Lame. The first game I work is the Ryan Dempster start v. the brewers. Ugh.
  2. Probably about 280-290 or so. Pretty sure that would be "down" for him.
  3. Hahahahaha, that made me laugh way harder than it probably should have.

  5. Honestly, I actually trust Dempster to be mediocre more than I trust Marquis. Marquis is going to get lit up this year, I think.
  6. I assume the game is so late to give Lou time to sober up. Mod edit: Roast doesn't know how to read a calendar.
  7. I would pay any amount of money to see Ryan Howard take BP with an aluminum bat Him or Dunn would make the ball literally scream just like the old BBTN graphic. Imagine Sammy in his prime hitting with an aluminum bat. Or better yet, Glen Allen Hill...sweet lord.
  8. What sort of high school has an 18-year reunion? Hahaha, nice catch.
  9. Which was awesome.
  10. That was awesome - especially that 2-seamer!
  11. werd. i like the pinstripes better, but the blues rock.
  12. Fontenot out by a mile. Good job. (not)
  13. Ouch. I like Fontenots slow "HOLY CRAP THAT HURTS" walk to first. Hope he's okay.
  14. "He's seeing the ball well, he's got a nice balanced hitting position..that's a great feeling. So I've been told" --Bob Brenley haha.
  15. that image is 1x1 pixels You're right. stupid Flickr.... 16. Well, the cameraman sucked and he didn't follow the ball well. The replay we did see showing it actually hitting the scoreboard in was not a very good one for telling its trajectery. It just showed it hitting the scoreboard about 5 inches below the top.
  17. Here's a better view: http://l.yimg.com/www.flickr.com/images/spaceball.gif Either way - he hit a freaking bomb.
  18. i doubt the scoreboard is that far back or that high in this park. I don't know..take a peek: http://farm1.static.flickr.com/51/113182645_7af35204f6.jpg?v=0 That's a tall scoreboard
  19. Yes, it hit within inches of the top of the scoreboard, it was an absolute freakin bomb. Also - Pie REALLY needed to swing at that strike 3...
  20. Oh my lord. HoffPauir butchered that poor ball.
  21. I like your list. Though I'm too young to really remember Sandberg or Dawson. I don't know anything about why you would/wouldn't like or dislike Dawson - but everything I see Sandberg say just reeks of bitter old man "Well back in my day!!!" type stuff. Though, If I would have seen him play I probably would have loved him.
  22. I'm behind this whole list - except here. I loved the Farns. And yes, it's mostly because he threw really hard and punched someone in the face. Immature or not, that was awesome. I vote you replace him with Felix Heredia. God I hated him so much. I'm with you on this but if you're going to pick relief pitchers, I'm going with Mel Rojas and Dave Smith Well, Rojas was already on the list and I don't remember Smith. (or rojas either, for that matter). I do, however, vividly remember Heredia sucking horribly. I also remember, however, that on whatever baseball game i was playing at the time - Probably Sammy Sosa High Heat 2001 - Heredia was lights out.
