  1. 2 straight K's to start the season base hit after that:
  2. Seriously, 5 minutes in the broadcast and I'm reminded that I hate the Marquee broadcasts.
  3. Welcome! Looking forward to your contributions, especially on the defensive front as this seems to be a major focus for this year's team.
  4. -Hendricks returns at some point in the season and pitches surprisingly well, pushing someone out of the rotation -Gomes surprises everyone with a 96 wRC+, which he hasn't hit since 2020 -Seiya starts out slow with no spring training but eventually is our best hitter by a decent amount the last couple months of the season (not sure if bold but whatever) -Cubs play .500 ball and are a couple games out of a playoff spot at the deadline but Jed annoys everyone by not only not buying but trading a couple of relievers and possibly Happ. (ok that's not bold, now I'm just making normal predictions)
  5. That’s very blue. Wasn’t expecting the mastro himself to start opening day
  6. Is there anyway to prevent the forum from taking 20 seconds to load every image 1 by 1 for every page I open on mobile? I try to make a quick response to something and every time I try to click on reply the page jumps because it’s loading another image and then jumps again for another image and then another image. Then I forget what I was going to say and go on Twitter. Old forum never had this issue even with gif and image heavy pages. Actually never really had this issue on any of the many forums I’ve frequented.
  7. Looks like plenty of seats available tomorrow. Used to be unfathomable to imagine Opening Day not sold out. So I thought about calling out of work and taking my sons, then looked up 3 tickets for the cheapest seats in house (404 Row 9, one of the top rows near the foul pole) and the total cost was $220. No thanks, no wonder they aren’t sold out.
  8. And then finally watching it and giving your reactions episode by episode in the TV thread lol
  9. A true "Derwood" would have been him jumping into this thread after several posts and saying "Hey guys I think we should start the season off right and do a Mad Man gif theme for this thread"
  10. I'd prefer not to but I guess I don't see a huge downside to it either. Mostly just because its the way we've always done it. But I don't read this forum through the individual sub-forums anyways so it makes no difference to me. I know in the past we've had people that were banned or suspended specifically from the GT Forum due to behavior in the game threads, but they were allowed to post elsewhere. Not sure if that matters.
  11. I seriously had no idea that there were this many lurkers reading our posts and finding enough value to keep coming back!
  12. Oh we're breaking out the good stuff for game 1? Opening Day!: Cubs fans at 1:20 tomorrow: Marcus Stroman to the Brewers lineup:
  13. i wouldnt care that much to refuse, but having coached my kids the last couple of years, I prayed that I wouldn't have to wear a Cardinals had during the games. I got Tigers last year and Rockies the year before.
  14. If you refresh the page and then go to the reply box again, there should be a banner above the text box that lets you clear contents. There's probably an easier way to do it but thats the workaround im using.
  15. When I was a kid, I always got the A's. Like every single year, different leagues, different region of the country. And then the one year I played in a league that didn't have league affiliations, I got put on the team with a dark green and yellow color scheme, so basically the A's again.
  16. Is there a way to add spoiler tags to a post? cant seem to find it
  17. My kids amazingly got the Cubs this year...I'm so psyched...always wanted to be the Cubs growing up. Also free Cubs hats!
  18. Dusty said it too...
  19. Can't speak for Andy but 2005 vibes to me means mediocrity, having good players but like you said some ceiling limiting filler. 2005 was definitely more annoying and disappointing than I expect this season to be coming off being 5 outs away from the world series and then the massively frustrating 2004 season. We were heading downward in 2005, whereas this team presumably should be on an upward trajectory with plenty to be hopeful about even if we end up .500ish Edit: I typed this up an hour ago and forgot to click post. I see the conversation has continued quite a bit since then, oh well.
  20. I cant tell you how many times I was searching for a gif on mobile and had difficulty pulling the direct link of the gif so that I could post it. Gifhy in particular was terrible at that....even if you tried to copy a direct link, it was to the page the gif was hosted on, not the direct gif image. This feels like a whole new world opening up for me.
  21. thought this was interesting though it’s almost certainly a courtesy as they’ve been pretty clear about only considering AH
