  1. C'mon guys, just one win. Go Cubs!
  2. The sad thing is that you are probably right. Yes, but the "vote of confidence" is usually a death knell for most managers. With the Cubs, it will probably actually BE a "vote of confidence." Well he's already gotten one this year and lived to talk about it
  3. I can't stand when people say that players from a losing team don't care or have no heart.
  4. Im done with this team if they arent sellers. But I presume they will be so it's all good
  5. I thought this would be the one thread without mention of the losing streak
  6. Prior is good, even the best fall down sometimes. Wood was better in 2003, injuries and changes in mechanics have led to him failing to reach his lofty expectations. Fluke? No....but extremely lucky? Yes. Play that season 100 times, we make the playoffs maybe 25 times, we make it to the NLCS 10 times, we play game 7 3 times I wasn't trying to say Prior's not good. I know he's good. I was just saying maybe he's not as good as what we saw in 2003. After the 2003 season there wasn't 1 person in baseball I would have traded Prior straight up for. Now there are many people I would trade him for. Including several pithcers. Really? Care to make a list Maybe I'm stubborn but there still isn't any player except maybe Pujols (ignoring salary) that I would trade Prior for.
  7. I'm going to hit myself with a blunt object and slip into a coma where its September 27, 2003, Sammy is running into RF spraying champaign on the bleacher bums, and the Wrigley crowd is chanting "Go Cubs Go"
  8. I'm a Cubs fan and will support them until the end. But obviously its not easy all the time

  10. He pitches for the Cubs... I am about done with this team. I wonder if I can get a refund on my MLB Extra Innings... I am far from done with this team. Honestly, if we lose enough to lose all hope of the playoffs, thats when the fun begins. We get to see the rookies playing, and there are no expectations to win. Obviously its not the fun of a pennant race, but c'mon a Cubs fan has to be used to still finding a reason to follow them even when they are terrible.
  11. I think Dusty expected the Cubs to get 7 next inning so Prior could get the win
  12. 6:30 CST...looking forward to that Smoltz/Williams matchup are we?
  13. Looks like we'll be in 4th place after this day Having visions of 1999 here
  14. Priors pitch count approaching 100 Can Dusty get fired in between games?
  15. Is it 4:20 yet because Prior is getting lit up
  16. Well when you have scored 1 run this series in the first 23 innings against starters with 5+ ERA
  17. 2-0 I'm giving up on this game and going to Best Buy
  18. Dammit Todd....walks don't score runs *sigh* [/Dusty]
  19. Yup he shouldn't have throw pitches that would be hit towards Dubois
  20. PC Check Ramirez - 4 IP 42 pitches Prior - 3 IP 54 pitches
  21. Did Dusty really say he was using yesterday's lineup for game 2?? Hello 8 game losing streak
  22. Dusty closer to getting canned 1 Cubs salvaging the season 0 Who do I cheer for?
