    I've been to 4 games in the past 1.5 seasons where the score was tied in the 9th, and each time I've hoped to see a walkoff win, and they lost everytime :(

    If the Reds traded Dunn to the division rival Cubs for 3 prospects pretty much, I think the team would fold due to lack of fan support by the end of the year. I will not believe that the Reds would consider trading Dunn to the Cubs until it actually happens.

    What about Latin America? I think if you did North America vs. Asia it wouldn't work either. Too different being from the US and being from the DR. I love the concept of a baseball World Cup, let's hope it works out

    He's gotten 12 at bats in the last 9 games. Even a veteran would lose his stroke playing that infrequently. That is not a fair platoon. He's only had 128 AB's on the season and he really only got regular starts over a 3 week stretch, and now he's on the brink of being dumped from the team. If every rookie on every team was discarded this quickly MLB would be overrun with 50 year old players. Somewhere Rickey Henderson's ears perk up

    ^^ I agree, but for some reason I tend to think of all the posters here as white males. I guess its my eurocentric upbringing combined with being in a mostly guy oriented subject matter. Obviously I don't look at anyone differently once I find out that they don't fit my admittadly narrow mold of person, but it does come as a "shocker", not because I think females don't know anything about sports, but because I already labeled a person as someone else in my mind. Hope I didnt run around in circles too much there.

    The Heckler recently had an article that Kerry won his 100th career simulated game. So congrats to him for that!

    Sooo tempted to pick up tickets for one of the night games. Even if it is finals week, I think I can find a way to slip out for a few hours

    He is on crack. I'm pretty sure Nomar isn't even running yet. I expect him back anywhere from August 1-15

    Don't you think by voting for Dubois you are being just like those dumb fans that vote for Nomar at SS or Pujols at 1B? I can kinda see voting for a scrub AL team since you are an NL fan and this game counts ;)

    Yeah he's just gotta hit the offspeed and breaking stuff. Once he figures that out, he should be a stud

    How dare you forget the his 4-pitch walk in his 5th AB!? At least he had one hard hit ball that could easily have gone for a single if it was hit a foot or two to the left or right. Still, he only saw 7 pitches in his first 4 ABs and he was retired on the first pitch in two of them. OK OK my bad. So his OBP is pretty low, yet he is still being as productive (2 RBIs each) in 20 PAs then Hairston has been in his 5 weeks as a starter. Of course thats not fair to Jerry, but lets bring TWalk up anyways

    He'll probably start AT THIS POINT but don't forget there is about 6-7 weeks until the All-star starters are announced. A lot of good or bad could happen between then Regardless, I'm taking a couple handfulls of ballots on Friday at Wrigley and checking off one Derrek Lee in each of them
