  1. Actually I like this....this will help me miss the Cubs a lot less with a fresh slap in the face before the offseason.
  2. They explained before the game that its because he has a sore ________ i forgot where exactly he was sore
  3. Dammit, I'm not supposed to get worked up over the Cubs on the last day of the season. This is not cool. It totally figures that baseball had the potential to have two one game tie breakers, and neither will probably occur, and in both cases the team I'd rather see in there will fall short
  4. Obviously, the Cubs sensing their fans desire for a Phillies WC entry will give their fans one last kick in the balls to close out the year and lose tomorrow. Most likely it will be a cruel loss too. In fact, in a way it would be fitting. No Bears tomorrow, so you know I'll be watching.
  5. I'll be living in the area durin the winter, if I'm reminded I'll take pictures though the winter, but they might be crappy cell phone pictures until I get my camera fixed
  6. This was a thread bumped from 2003 right?
  7. I like the fact that we are playing 4 at Petco this year again. We are 6-1 there all time :):)
  8. Yup, that was him. The first time I saw his name this year, I had no idea why I remembered it, then I looked it up and smiled.
  9. The juniper bushes went in in 1996 (maybe 97). And there's a major difference between putting green bushes (has the same vibe as ivy) in center, rather than showing just empty bleachers. To go from bushes to a giant green glass (similar to that ugly thing in center in cinci) is major. It'll take a lot to get used to it. I'm amazed more people aren't annoyed by it I personally disagree. Despite the way people think about the Trib Co. I think they will be very delicate about this for fear of ruining the vibe of Wrigley. If it loses its aura, they might actually have to worry about building a winning ballclub. The bushes have been there for 9 years if your correct, thats hardly something I'd consider that would ruin the mystique of Wrigley. Yes it was better then what was there, but I think the restaurant will be tasteful. The thing that still bothers me is the bleachers, the view and the fact that you will no longer be able to stand at the top of the bleachers and watch the game.
  10. You'll get used to it just like you got used to when the junipers were put in in the 80's. The view of the Wrigley neighborhood being blocked bothers me a bit though
  11. I've never wanted a season to be over as much as I want this one to be. The farther we are away from this mess, the closer we are to another chance next season.
  12. You guys shouldn't let threads like this bother you. It's mearly envious shots at your ballclub. You have a postseason to worry about
  13. Does he mention Christian Guzman? Didn't think so.
  14. For the second year in a row, St. Louis, having already clinched the division and home field, has been swept by a Houston team battling for a Wild Card during the last week of the season. I think both times were in St. Louis too. Discuss
  15. Did that say Food poisoning or Dusty poisoning?
  16. Look what desipio's Cubs Live has shown me...NSFW? Edit: I probably wouldn't click on the link unless you have a good sense of humor http://www.deadspin.com/sports/DigSoxYanks.jpg
  17. I see he's chugging along at his usual pace..... actually now that I think about it he's a little below that pace. Good job MP!
  18. Quick, 4 players have an OPS this season over 1.000. Name them. I bet everyone gets Lee, Pujols and ARod. Not many people will guess Travis Hafner as the 4th. He gets my vote. For additional votes, I go with Texiaria, Cliff Lee and probably Ensberg. A guy with Ensbergs numbers should not have been an injury replacement for the ASG
  19. I've been looking at Craig's list and have seen bleacher tickets as low as $15 for tonights game. I might walk over to the park around gametime and try to buy some $5-10 tickets :)
  20. So who wants to guess potential clinch dates ;)
  21. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/cs-050925cubsbits,1,7820932.story?coll=cs-home-headlines I've seen something about this at least twice in the Trib.
  22. Wow, the Q&A was the first thing I thought of when I read the thread title. Len is the freakin man!
  23. Yeah but he's had several 2-3 run first innings followed by dominance
  24. You realize Dusty has played I think 4 games over the past 6 years when his team has no shot at the playoffs? That number is about to go waaaay up starting tomorrow
  25. Heh, it takes one corporate named ballpark to be changed to another corporate name for you to express your opinion on this matter? ;) I don't think the corporate name thing bothers me anymore, its when ballparks change their name that bugs me. RIP Jack Murphy Stadium, Pro Player/Joe Robbie Stadium, Fleet Center, Candlestick Park, Astrodome, Comiskey Park, etc etc etc
