    Apparently you've missed some of the pitchers that SHUT US DOWN during the 8 game losing streak. Remember the Reds swept us by allowing 8 runs in the series. THE REDS

    We are 18 games behind the Cardinals, I can't say that Dusty Baker has cost our team even 10 of those games.

    I haven't been real positive of the entire season and lately especially, however the only thing that has kept me from thoroughly throwing in the towel was the knowledge that we still have a ton of games left with both the Cards and Stros. Even if the playoffs aren't likely, the opportunity to play spoiler still gives me reason to see the Cubs win. The funny thing is, we only lost 2.5 games in the Wild Card in believe during our 8 game slide. The Astros could have burried us, but they didnt. Maybe that is them returning the favor for last year?

    Why do you have to make something out of nothing? La Russa does not order pitchers to throw at players. Period. I read an article in ESPN magazine where he not even admitted to doing so in strategical situations, he actually named specific instances in the past where he threw at a player. I think the player he named in that article was Luis Gonzalez. He was talking about how much he hated to do it because they were friends. So there.

    I just injected myself with some positive pills. If for some reason we swept Houston this week and pulled to within say 4 games at the end of that series....

    You do realize that pretty much every game in the past 3 weeks would be a loss if our starter only gave up 4 runs in 8IP

    This team, after 2 weeks of complete suckatude, is making a futile attempt to win me back... It's like a girl breaking up with you, you go through all the stages of getting over her, but finally you are finally back to normal and almost completely over her..... ...then suddenly she comes over wasted at 3AM talking about how much she wants you back and she misses being with you

    Actually, that's pretty funny. You know we'd be laughing at the Cards if they were in the same position. CSN should start the broadcast by showing highlights from the September series against the Cards in 2003. They may have every other big moment in this rivalry, but they'll never have that series and the Sandberg game.

    Minor League guys....anyone know any good prosects on the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (AA-Toronto) or the Bingingham Mets (AA-Mets)? I'm getting Box Seats and heading to the game tonight ($12 for first row behind home plate :))

    The question is why would he make any moves to prepare for the Cubs. Is he worried that the 17 game gap between the teams could be made up in the blink of an eye?
