I swear, I had never been a Cubs playoff game until tonight. (think about it...) The feeling being in the bleachers when Barrett hit that HR was indescribable. I don't know if it was the cold, or if it was 6 months of pent up frustration, or because it was the Cards, but that was such an amazing game to be at.
The wind is blowing out too most likely... My prediction Marshall 5IP 7H 6ER 3K 2BB Ponson 6IP 5H 3ER 2K 1BB However, I'm hoping the Cubs do what they did to the bullpen yesterday.
Didn't he throw to batters on Wednesday as well? I think they stretched him out to 60 pitches and were planning on stretching him to 80 the next time (which with 4 days rest would be tomorrow) Obviously he still needs to make a couple of rehab starts before he can rejoin the team.
Z was at the game tonight, the third game I've seen him at over the past 2 years. He really loves him some Bulls. I believe the other 2 I saw him at were a game last year against Charlotte (during Cubs convention) and a game against Indiana this year (during Cubs convention). This is the first time I've seen him at a Bulls game several hours after pitching. What an awesome man.
and 1 was even unintentional! Don't forget reaching on an error two times, and once he even remained on base after the play was over! Plus he's only misplayed one ball really badly!
I've been ripping on Jones badly too, but let's give him more then 4 games. He's not going to be anything great, I doubt he'll hit better then Burnitz last year, but he'll probably be a better option then anyone else when all is said and done. The best thing is though is that we have him for 3 years, so it will be hard to trade for an upgrade at the deadline!
Now theres a bit less pressure on Marshall tomorrow. While a sweep would be awesome, we've already won the series. Hopefully he can come out calm and throw some of the stuff he threw in the spring. Go Cubs! I'm off to the Bulls game!
Gotta give Dusty credit where it is do, solid move putting Barrett in there. Of course if he GIDP id be cursing him out. Out of curiosity, with Macais gone, whose the emergency C?
Well deserved. He might be worse than Corey, seriously. It's the first week of the season. Corey - 1/6 1 RBI 1 K .167 BA, .167 OBP, .167 SLG, .333 OPS Jones - 0/12 1 RBI 6 K .000 BA, .077 OBP (not .000 because of INT Walk), .000 SLG, .077 OPS
The offense isn't doing jack. Carp is pitching a great game, we should have gotten to him in the first. When we didn't I felt we let our best chance go away. JONES SUCKS!!! LEAVE ALREADY
This is nothing, I remember when Sammy went down in 2003 (it was either the cork suspension or the injury), Dusty simpy replaced Sosa at #3 in the order with......Trinadad Hubbard! BTW, amazing the radar looks like we will miss a big bulk of the storm.
Hey, I kinda arranged to purchase all 4 tickets from EamusCatuli. I notice there is another thread going around willing to sell 4 tickets to Sundays game as well. http://www.northsidebaseball.com/PremiumForum/viewtopic.php?t=30358 I really hope you are able to work something out. I have a couple of friends planning to come from out of town for the game, so I can't really back out of those tickets now.
