  1. When our pitching is good the offense sucks when the offense swings their bats the pitching struggles.
  2. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to complain about not getting Baker home from third with 0 outs.
  3. Would he be a Hall of Famer? He has never been a spectacular pitcher, but you almost have to reward that type of longevity. Yeah you also have to reward him playing baseball that long while raising 7 damn children.
  4. If the Cubs ever make the playoffs again, the team that is likely to play the Cubs should immediately trade for/sign Randy Johnson and Jamie Moyer to their team no matter how old they are so they can be assured of winning games 1 and 2.
  5. 2 runs in the last 27 innings for the Cubs. In those 27 innings we've had 13 total hits and 6 walks.
  6. I wonder why Milton Bradely only has 21 RBIs in 76 games despite hitting 3-6th the entire season.
  7. We wouldn't have gotten Abreu for $5 million because we weren't willing to wait until March to sign a right fielder.
  8. Thanks Jim Hendry for having a $140 mill payroll that still has Shark on the major league roster. wasn't Stevens the only one left in the pen at that time.
  9. Run? They haven't even gotten a single hit. Hitless since the 7th inning. I think the only base runner was a HBP on Ramirez.
  10. Chan Ho Park is on his way to 3 scoreless hitless innings. He of the 5.60 ERA and 1.50 WHIP
  11. I love how the offense continues to be inept day after day after day, and yet the only names we hear in trade talks are names like BJ Ryan and Sherill
  12. Were still averaging over 4 runs per game over the last 3 games!
  13. Man we really suck at offense. Even if we somehow made the playoffs we'd get wacked out in 3 games again.
  14. Just because Ted Lilly got rocked and the Cubs offense went scoreless for two innings doesn't mean the Nats series was a fluke. All it does is hurt momentum and shake our confidence a bit.
  15. yeah because Cubs fans were so pissed we didn't go after Ibanez in the offseason.
  16. I called that on the exact pitch. Lilly vs. Philly at CBP is an awful idea.
  17. Like Tree said, I like the Giants home unis the best. Road unis are usually pretty dull but I'd have to go with Baltimore's. I love how they now say "Baltimore" in orange on the front. Worst, I'd go with the Rockies home uniforms (I just think they look rather plain and the color scheme is dull) and obviously the Padres road uniforms are awful.
  18. Hill is the only Cub without a hit, including the pitcher.
  19. Yay for Badly not playing today.
  20. I'm just annoyed that Obama has welcomed and met like every sports team out there since he became president, and when the Cubs went to visit yesterday somehow Obama didn't have time to meet them.
  21. I like that Wells got back a win from one of games the bullpen blew earlier in the year.
  22. I just wish for one game this team would look like the 2008 team again offensively. Remember we'd have those games where we build like a 2-0 lead early, and then every inning we just kept getting runners on, working the count, etc. Before we know if we've tacked on 6-7 more runs and its a blowout. Nowadays, we get 2-3 good scoring opportunities a game and if we don't capatalize we're screwed.
  23. I love how us getting Soriao back in the lineup tonight is front page ESPN.com news, as if he either A) is a benefit to our team, or B) has missed a long period of time with the team.
  24. Well this was guaranteed to happen. Time to see what your made of rook. This is a pessimistic thought but if we lose this, we have Kevin Hart on the bump tomorrow to avoid the split in a series we really have to win.
