  1. I agree with you but Lou has consistently not used his best available PHers earlier in the game.
  2. 100 ABs isn't enough to say definitively, but Jake Fox is starting to win me over in the "is he legit?" argument. He hasn't really had a prolonged period of ineffectiveness, his 7 HRs are spaced out pretty evenly, he seems to have enough of a plate discipline to work the count in his favor consistently. The strange thing is he has a pretty big reverse split going so far, hitting lefties at a .809 clip and righties at a .967 but that has to be attributed to sample size. I wish we could find a permanent position for him and see if he has a little Fontenot Syndrome in him or not, but for this year's club, he is actually quite valuable in his current role.
  3. In what dimension? You think it was a clear ball? Without a doubt. This ump has had several bad calls tonight but not that one. Hmm, I'll look at it again but it looked slightly high but in the zone. Oh well what's done is done.

  5. I was not very appreciative of that AB by Theriot there. Our offense just dies at this park. We did alright hitting last year but like 85% of the runs we scored that series were on a Ward HR and a random 7 run scoring outburst in the third game after playing exactly how we are playing today before.
  6. I thought that was more of a drag bunt

  8. The Cubs are showing their disgust at not picking up another hitter by not getting anyone on base tonight.
  9. Did the question specify NL MVP or just MVPs?
  10. Volstad strikes me of one of those pitchers who is very inconsistent but when he's on, he's on. I had him on my fantasy team earlier, and he was always one start from being dropped and then he'd have a very dominating performance. Luckily for me I finally dropped him for good last week.
  11. I was half-trying to run through the Mets. Can't remember any. They just said Caminiti for Padres...so I'm gonna throw the Astros in there Those tricky bastards. It's definitely Milwaukee, only being in the NL 11 years. Yeah, they hinted at Milwaukee right away when they said "how many NL teams have won an AL MVP"
  12. Personal reasons being that Canada sucks and the AL is harder.
  13. you would be rewarded. Looks like he has a sucessful career outside of football too. http://www.linkedin.com/pub/richmond-mcgee/4/b75/471
  14. because he was waiting for better offers that never came.
  15. Would you expect anything else from the fanbase that produced this gem? maybe I read this wrong but I didn't see this as a idiot comment. All they are saying is that with all the day games, there is an inherent home field advantage the Cubs employ. But in the past the cubs weren't able to take advantage for whatever reasons.
  16. I don't care who is on their team, they won't play this well for the rest of the year, just as we won't play this well all year. Their hitting has actually been hit or miss since they made moves. A couple of terrific offensive days and a few days of mediocre performances. That makes me feel good that their offense isn't likely turning into the 27 Yankees although it is good.
  17. Sorry to ruin the fun everyone. SSR was being sarcastic from the beginning.
  18. I'm at the Metrodome right now checking it out before it closes for baseball and I've gotten several 'cubs suck' comments from twins fans (and a bunch from sox fans - I'm wearing a cubs hat). Why are we so hated amongst teams in the Midwest?what did we ever do to the twins?
  19. sorry we don't really follow the Brewers anymore. (feel free to rub in my face when Brewers make their comeback)
  20. what happens to doumit? He's probably one of their best 3 players. Maybe he's next...
  21. Men got on base. Pitchers can't really control what order they give up baserunners. Pitchers who spread out their hits over several innings are typically lucky. He was hittable all night and got away with it.
  22. I think all teams have several moments like this per season. Unfortunately, this one was caught on camera, much like Barrett and Z two years ago.
  23. That's shady as hell. I hope this blows up and Selig and co. get what they deserve.
