  1. Dead serious. JockJones wasn't. Dammit. I knew I read a quote almost exactly like that recently and part of me thought it was a reference to it, but I bit anyways.
  2. Bears #5 in ESPN.com's power rankings: http://espn.go.com/nfl/powerrankings/_/week/11 They went from among the lowest of the 5-3 teams, to the highest 6-3 team.
  3. You are the man Tim! I don't have a question but looking forward to reading the answers.
  4. Because spending a lot of money on the best hitter in baseball is such a Hendry move, and we have moved past those days. When did we do that?
  5. I think 8 points would be a successful trip. I read today that they went 4-2 last year and I think something like 4-1-1 the year before.
  6. Hopefully they're so demoralized that they don't even show up on Sunday. Because if the Raiders can't win this game, it pretty much guarantees at least 1-3 against the NFC North. I'm guessing your projecting a split with Chicago and Detroit? Feels like a safe bet with both games in Oakland. I'm scared that you guys are gonna run all over us next week. On a side note I hate that we play you guys in Oakland 2 times in a row, having also played you there in 2007. That means you will go from 2003 (2nd ever game at new Soldier Field) to 2015 without coming to Chicago. It's the opposite with the Chiefs, going that long without playing in Arrowhead.
  7. Taking a look at the Wild Card race, it seems likely that 4 teams (Detroit, Chicago, Dallas, and Atlanta) are fighting for 2 playoff spots. Here is a look at the remaining schedules for each: Chicago: SD, @OAK, KC, @DEN, SEA, @GB, @ MIN Detroit: CAR, GB, @NO, MIN, @OAK, SD, @GB Dallas: @WAS, MIA, @ARI, NYG, @ TB, PHI, @ NYG Atlanta: TEN, MIN, @HOU, @CAR, JAC, @NO, TB I gotta say, Chicago, Dallas and Atlanta all have easy schedules. Obviously we hold the tiebreaker over Atlanta, but if we were to tie Dallas, they would currently win the tiebreaker with a 4-2 conference record vs. 6-3 for us. The good thing for us is that we've already played 9 of our 12 conference games, while others have played less, so they have to catch up to us (at least I think that's a good thing). I see the Bears going 5-2 to finish 11-5, the Lions going 4-3 or 3-4 to go 10-6 or 9-7, Dallas and Atlanta each going 5-2 finishing 10-6. That leaves little room for error for the Bears.
  8. Dude Allen, your team is down by 14, and is about to score again despite your sack. You look like a moron when you celebrate like that.
  9. Yes, because all of the Packers fans on here are idiots. I'm glad you finally accept that. Idiot.
  10. I already put in an official request to the Cubs media department. :) However, if we can figure out another way other than official channels, I'm all for it. umfan, I think he's talking to you. Working on it.
  11. http://sonsofsamhorn.net/topic/69192-five-good-minutes-with-theo-epstein/ [expletive] just got real. Theo must be educated on us. Don't worry. I may have something up my sleeve.
  12. Randomly? I thought it was common knowledge that he was putting more effort into being a receiver in those years. He didn't return as often, and when he did he was partially worn down by playing every down as a receiver. I guess so. That was what I was saying at the time too, but it seems odd that he was that ineffective just from playing every down as a receiver. IIRC, he wasn't even getting good runbacks on punt returns much less touchdowns and some people were suggesting that they either pull him from WR or pull him from kick returns.
  13. I was just thinking about Devin Hester's return yesterday, and it just dawned on me how weird it was that Hester randomly just stopped taking kicks to the house for 2 full seasons (08 and 09) before picking it up again like no big deal. What happened during those 2 seasons? Kick returns by year 2006: 7 (including missed FG and super bowl) 2007: 6 2008: 0 2009: 0 2010: 3 2011: 3 (on pace for 5-6)
  14. Wish I would have seen this earlier, I could have stalked them. Maybe I'll go walk my dogs in Zs hood and stalk him as he returns home.
  15. bye bye NBA!
  16. Where do you see that? Weather.com shows a high of 49 next Sunday.
  17. Yeah I believe Wild Cards are locked in at 5th or 6th seeds, thats why the Saints had to travel to Seattle last year even though they were a 7-9 team. edit: damn, beaten twice. Quite weird but if the Bears win a wild card spot it will be their first appearance in Wild Card weekend AND their first road playoff game since 1994.
  18. Would be nice if we had Carimi to slot in there.
  19. Come on, I want to get to 40
  20. To be fair, given the lead the offense has been conservative as heck. I'm not ripping on them, I just think its funny that we've outscored them by 10 this half despite almost nothing offensively.
  21. Bears drives this half: 3 and out FG drive 4 and out 3 and out 3 and out And yet we're outscoring them 17-7 in the half.
  22. Whats was that they were saying about Detroit being perfect in the red zone this year? They've gone scoreless 2 different times inside the 20 before finally getting something this time.
