  1. Also, kind of frustrating that the Wings and Predators have already made trade deadline acquisition and I am not seeing a lot of serious rumors for the Hawks (maybe I'm missing). The guy on the score tonight got me all worried when he suggested that Bowman is afraid to deal his prospects. He thinks Bowman will do nothing. If so that's a little frustrating.
  2. But it seems that the Hawks are running it a lot lately. Of course I do not watch all Hawks games, so maybe I am just catching them at the right times. Probably seems like a good option when your team has massive trouble clearing the puck. Even when playing conservative they make dumb mistakes which lead to backbreaking goals. I can understand it even though I hate the concept. Just saw the highlights on NHL.com, looks like it was a very entertaining game and Jimmy Howard was amazing as he always is against us.
  3. Hey! Only some of my rants are idiotic. Sorry i was actually at the game tonight so posting was sparse otherwise you might have gotten one. Yes believe it or not Michigan gets too 3 happy at times. Like in the last 10 minutes in the first half when they took a 3, contested or not on every possession and missed them all. It does drive me nuts when UM is struggling to score and for 3 straight possessions they do not move the ball inside the 3 point line and miss either contested 3s or 3s taken 3 steps behind the line. And Tim Hardaway Jr should almost never be shooting 3s. I don't care that he hit the one to tie it at the end of regulation, he missed like 6 in a row before that, several extremely forced. In general though I like that Michigan takes a lot of 3s, I just wish they had something else to go to when the other team is defending the perimeter well or the team is ice cold. Right now it would mean Burke driving to the lane which works occasionally but teams have been adjusting lately, or sometimes dump it into Morgan which probably has a 30% chance of working.
  4. Lunardis updated bracket after tonights game still has NW among his final 4 teams in. If they can win their last 3 games somehow (at Iowa, vs. Ohio state, at penn state) they'll have a pretty good shot at 19-11 (9-9). They'd probably be 1 BTT win and in.
  5. nah they are trying. This is their typical road effort.
  6. Tim Hardway Jr. is letting NU get to the NCAAs. What a swell guy. Edit: of course as I say that he hits one.
  7. Tim Hardaway Jr. 3/10 shooting 2/7 FT. Missed 5 consecutive FTs. An he's been taking every shot during a critical stretch for UM
  8. I kinda don't like Tim Hardaway Jr.
  9. That's optimistic.
  10. It's amazing how Michigan looks like a completely different team on the road. Every possession is a forced 3 pointer or a turnover.
  11. Eh, to me it looked pretty clear that he whipped the ball at the ref. The ref definitely wasn't prepared for it and the ball wasn't just tossed softly to him. Do I think what he did was all that bad? No, but based on previous suspensions in the NBA 2 games makes sense. Maybe 1 game plus the ejection he got would have been a little better. Then again, I don't like Ronda so my judgement is probably biased.
  12. My guess is that the Red Sox could have forced Theo to remain in Boston to serve out the remainder of the contract so they needed some convincing to agree to do that. So the official transaction is Chris Carpenter and a PTBNL to the Red Sox for a PTBNL. And then by making this trade, the Red Sox have "separately" agreed to let Theo out of his contract and sign with the Cubs. Except it happened completely out of order. I dunno if that addresses your question or if that is all obvious to you already and the question was more rhetorical.
  13. Even if Carpenter became a decent MR or whatever, I would be ok with Theo for Carpenter. I still think its too much but whatever, I'm sick of hearing about it, its over now and the chances of Carpenter for Theo being the next Brock for Broglio is slim to none.
  14. Whatever, its over. That would be so funny if whatever the meager PTBNL we get from the Red Sox turns out to be a superstar.
  15. agreed. no longer cool.
  16. I think the worst it got was 39-9 at some point early in the 2nd.
  17. In that case you would end the regular season 19-11 (8-10) with wins over OSU, MSU, MICH, WISC (or OSU again) and you'd probably get a 6-7 seed depending on tiebreakers with potentially Purdue, NW, Iowa. You really think a win over Nebraska then losing to Ohio State in the QFs is enough to get in? I think it could go either way. Regardless, this is a stupid discussion. Illinois does have a history of rising from the dead in the BTT though.
  18. Not that they aren't dead men walking, but if they wanted to get back into the tourney's good graces, they have the schedule to do it. @ #9 OSU, vs. Iowa, vs. #13 Michigan, @ #15 Wisky Go 3-1 with at least 2 victories against ranked teams, and win 2 BTT games and they would probably be right on the edge of the bubble.
  19. 500k deal, will sit out first 50 games for PED suspension. I know this was something that was discussed briefly in the Cespedes thread but it looks like it's a done deal.
  20. Somehow Michigan goes from 25th in the AP poll to 10th in the span of two weeks.
  21. The SoSH site is getting absolutely hilarious again. They are so dilusional over there its actually a bit sad. One even said that the Cubs announced an agreement with Theo while he was still under contract from the Red Sox without the Red Sox even having a chance to retain him. How the hell can you possibly believe that? Another guy says that the Red Sox as a measure of trust and integrity, allowed Theo to go to the Cubs without agreeing on compensation and Theo along with the Cubs proved to be dishonest and lacking integrity. Basically in their eyes, Lucchino said "sure buddy you can go to the Cubs, I'm sure the cubs will bend over backwards to compensate us as we see fit" as if there weren't already weeks of disagreements over the value of compensation. Haha I love this forum. Probably the dumbest and most irrationally biased forum I've ever seen.
  22. Bulls went down 19-3 in the first 5 minutes. That's pretty much it. Nah. The Bulls at 2 separate points in the first half cut the lead to 7 and seemed to have all the momentum only to have the Nets hit some garbage 3 or for Lucas to make a dumb turnover leading to a fast break and before you know it the lead is 14 again. While I won't argue the 19-3 (I think the worst was 22-4) was a major backbreaker, the Bulls got themselves back in the game only to again be outplayed. The biggest thing, and Thibs had quite a tantrum in his postgame conference because of this, was that the Bulls did not come to play yesterday. I know that's a big cliche (like a losing team having no heart and a winning team having tons), but the Nets were constantly getting loose balls and had a ton of offensive rebounds, especially in the 2nd half. I'm aware the Bulls too had a good number of ORebs but when you shoot something like 35% you will have a lot of opportunities. Face it, the Bulls thought this was a gimme, even Thibs did by not playing Rose despite him saying 2 days in a row that he's not in pain anymore. It just bit him in the ass this time. I expect a fired up Bulls team tomorrow afternoon and its looking optimistic that Rose will be back.
  23. He threw a fit on Twitter because he wasn't called up in September with the other call ups. Edit: This was his tantrum
  24. We win. Hope the Hawks enjoyed their 2 week winter break. They have a lot of work to do to make up for that BS road trip. If the last 96 hours, the Hawks have won 3 games in regulation, including 2 of them being against top 4 NHL teams (in terms of points).
  25. Northwestern is the last team in on Lunardi's latest bracket tomorrow. Illinois is the 8th team out
