  1. It's not looking good but we have to remember he was the youngest player in the league until September call ups and will likely be among the very youngest players on opening day.
  2. Who talks like that?
  3. If I'm understanding this right, 250k for each game finished between 50 and 59. Then 250k for pitching in 50 games, and another 250k for pitching in 65 games, but the most his bonus can be is $2.5m Did we make him any kind of promises about finishing games? Did we just spend money on a Proven Closer? I would guess the gf in that tweet means games finished - meaning he gets a $250K bonus for every game he finishes from 50-59 and then for 60 and 65. I am guessing the 60 and 65 is appearances not games finished because the max bonus is 2.5m. 250k x 10 (50-59 GF) = 2.5m meaning the 60 and 65 GF would be unattainable
  4. Contract details: If I'm understanding this right, 250k for each game finished between 50 and 59. Then 250k for pitching in 50 games, and another 250k for pitching in 65 games, but the most his bonus can be is $2.5m
  5. Jay needs 199 passing yards to break the Bears single season record of 3,838 set by Erik Kramer and 360 yards to become the first Bears QB with 4,000 yards in a season. Jay also needs 2 TD passess to hit 30 and break the Bears single season passing TD record, also set by Kramer
  6. Did he really explain Cutler starting by saying "Jay gives us the best chance to win on Sunday"? who the hell cares if we win on sunday. its not going to make a difference in your evaluation, it will only hurt the bears moving forward, and not giving your younger players a chance to play in a lost season hurts the future. I wouldn't be saying this if Trestman didn't already make the stupid decision to bench Jay last week, but since he has and (in my mind) the Jay-Trestman marriage is broken beyond repair, just give Fales a freaking start.
  7. Wow indeed 2.5 years left and close to $34 million that they will eat for him not to play for Detroit
  8. Wow, he must either know that Trestman isn't coming back or he isn't Edit: Here's an article with his quotes: http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2014/12/22/robbie-gould-backs-jay-cutler-opens-up-about-bears-dysfunction-under-trestman/
  9. This is the end.... On the chopping block:
  10. Although I'm a little bit bigger of a Bears fan I'd rather him go to Michigan because I believe Harbaugh is much more needed at UM. There's a much smaller pool of coaches that can (quickly) turn around that program.
  11. Bears had 30 less total yards, 3 less points, and as many 50+ yard drives yesterday as the last time the Bears played the Lions. And Cutty had the benefit of Marshall and Long (albeit on the road vs home yesterday). And one of their TDs on thanksgiving was due to a TO inside the Lions 10. I just like playing devils advocate. I'm on the side of Cutler here, and it's clear that Clausen didn't provide a "spark" like Trestman suggested would happen but Clausen didn't do significantly worse than the last time we played Detroit. In fact pretty comparable and maybe better if Jeffery isn't blatantly interfered with on a no call (it's either a 50 yard TD catch or a 1st and goal from inside the 10, very likely leading to points) or if the Bears can punch in from the 1.
  12. If the Panthers win next week won't that be the first time the NFC South has had a repeat champion?
  13. We could if the Saints lose and Falcons and Panthers tie.
  14. Just playing Meatball's advocate, his yards would have been better if there weren't 7 drops. Also if there was garbage time I'm the game like Cutler has had in a lot of his games. It was a decent performance from a backup QB. Nothing to get excited about but nothing to disparage either. Clausen's YPA was lower than any of Cutler's games this year and nearly a yard lower than the worst qualifying QB in the NFL. Bennett leads all TEs in the NFL in drops and Forte is second amongst RBs. He got 14 points because of shortened fields due to idiocy from Detroit - a ST fumble and a roughing the punter penalty. Decent performance from a backup QB. Would have scored more than 14 if they could have punched it in from the 1 on 2 tries, or if there wasn't a blatantly missed pass interference call inside the 10 yard line. Not even including the drops. Again decent performance from a backup against the leagues number 2 defense, while starting 2-3 undrafted rookies on the line and without our number 1 WR. I'm not saying he's good, and I'm definitely not saying he should replace Cutler or that he should even be on this team in any capacity next year. Just that it was a decent performance from a backup, and frankly better than I expected from him

  16. Meatballs are already crowning Clausen as the new McCown. Somehow Clausen's presence prevented the defense from giving up less than the 40 points they usually allow.
  17. The Red Zone channel seems to be weirdly off today. They keep ignoring red zone opportunities to show non red zone opportunities and for some reason seem to be obsessed with this Giants-Rams game. It seems to be their go to game when nothing else is happening which is bizarre since it's the only game on right now with no playoff implications
  18. Quick math but I think the Bears can get no worse than the 8th pick with a loss next week. And the Giants are up double digits early. If they lose I believe a loss to Minnesota clinches the 7th pick. I am not sure how the tiebreakers work but Washington can still tie them too if they beat Dallas, so maybe still slightly alive for the 6 spot.
  19. First 10 loss season for the Bears since 2004...3rd longest streak in the NFL behind only the Patriots and Chargers
  20. This is hilarious 7 drops
  21. I enjoyed the few years where Tim Jennings was randomly an adequate CB.
  22. this secondary is terrible. we just love blatantly interfering, especially on 3rd downs
  23. The Bears winning doesn't really effect the Packers unless Green Bay blows the lead in the last 3 minutes. Good point, because next week is winner take all with a GB win right?
  24. They'd really prefer to not call any pass interference calls on Detroit
