  1. Yeah not exactly a ringing endorsement for Cutler or Marshall I think I'm like 90% certain Marshall is gone.
  2. TBH, there's really not a ton of attractive options. Would be awesome if it was Finfer though. Interesting to note that Finfer's Game host Alex Quigley retweeted Spiegel's tweet about today's announcement. Maybe either of those 2 would be an option.
  3. Mully and Hanley are complete garbage, especially Mully. How that guy has one of the 4 most coveted radio shows in a top 3 market is absolute insanity. Worst show on radio, but they get pretty good ratings. Morning drive opposite Mike and Mike...anyone but Mike North would. It bugs me that we can't get a 3rd sports talk radio station to stick in Chicago... For example: -Dallas, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, NYC, LA, Philly, Memphis, Nashville, Washington and Detroit have 3 stations -Houston and Cleveland/Akron and Boston/NH have 4 stations Granted I'm sure at least 1 station in those cities only broadcasts national content 24/7, but that's still better than when the Score has a NIU game on and ESPN is replaying Cowherd or something.
  4. Non-Cubs: -Indians win the AL Central -At least 1 of these teams makes the playoffs: Houston, Kansas City, Cincinnati, New York Mets -At least 1 of these teams does not make the playoffs: Detroit, St. Louis, LA Angels Cubs: -Either Bryant or Soler or both make the all star team -Baez is sent down to AAA at some point but comes back and finishes the year very strong -The bleachers aren't done until the end of May and the lost revenues are blamed for the Cubs not making a big deadline acquisition -Kyle Hendricks is the 2nd best starter
  5. As long as hes not being paid a ton. He's likely better than Claussen as a backup
  6. Anyone else having trouble getting on through northsidebaseball.com/forum? I am here through that 67.225.136.72 link, but if you go through the domain name it says the domain has expired. People on the emergencynsbb forum are having the same problem.
  7. Apparently Gase was really close to being the 49ers Head Coach but they bungled it up by trying to force him to make Tomsula his Defensive Coordinator. Instead Gase turned them down, the 49ers hired Tomsula as coach, and Gase signed on to be the Bears OC. Good for us! Between the Bears and Michigan, the 49ers have been really kind to my football teams this offseason between Harbaugh, Fangio and Gase. http://deadspin.com/how-else-did-the-49ers-screw-up-their-coaching-search-1686060155
  8. Man I remember waiting for him to come back from his concussion for a long time and I don't think he ever completely made it back. I'm scared that concussion had something to do with his death Sounds like he was battling depression. Which again might be caused by the concussion. Normally I wouldn't think so if its just one concussion, but the fact that he was out over a year and never actually made it back to the NHL afterwards (and he was only like 33) makes me think it was a particularly bad concussion that had lasting effects that never went away
  9. Saw this on reddit. Not sure if it's an official rendering but I'm guessing it is:
  10. That was one of the more entertaining SOs I've seen. 5 goals in 6 attempts, Kane with another sick goal, Crosby lucked into a goal, Toews found a tiny opening in the 5 hole. Good stuff. 2-0-2 to start the 8 game homestand.
  11. Can't say I've ever seen a penalty called, a guy goes to the box and then the call is reversed and he is let out. Of course it happens against the Hawks. 2 borderline calls in 30 seconds go against Chicago.
  12. Man I remember waiting for him to come back from his concussion for a long time and I don't think he ever completely made it back. I'm scared that concussion had something to do with his death
  13. For all the bitching I've done about McDermott not playing, Thibs' redshirt program seems to work out well for us.
  14. I don't even care if the Cubs aren't playing fair and throwing their weight around (if that is even true), if those [expletive] rooftops somehow stop those boards from going up before opening day, I really really hope people somehow organize a boycot of those rooftops.
  15. Sucks to come back from down 2 goals with 2 mins left only to lose in OT. At least we got a point, but 0-0-2 to start the 8 game homestand.
  16. Speedy slot receiver option?
  17. [source] My friend told me his heart skipped a beat when he read an ESPN headline "Sources: Sabres get Kane in blockbuster deal"
  18. I heard Chris Harris was highly regarded among teammates for his work last year.
  19. Feel bad for the kids. They didn't do anything wrong and now they have to live with it. Meanwhile the people that cheated got to profit off of them.
  20. Good question, I do think if the ref called it a goal on the ice, it would have stood. Not enough evidence to overturn either way. Exactly...I think the refs knew it was almost certainly a goal, but they couldnt overturn it based on the evidence. I don't have any problem with the way the refs called it. Just sucks because if we could get a few more frames with the puck not obstructed by the glove and stick, there would have been conclusive evidence IMO.
  21. Why can't the NHL invest in goal line technology like soccer? The technology is there and it speeds up the game because you don't have reviews like this.
  22. Hawks get screwed out of a point. Raanta sucked in the shootout
  23. Still going to be tough to compete with LA and SF in their division (obviously there's 2 WCs though)
  24. I'm completely fine with this. I think our rotation will be good this year, and if any of them falters there are a ton of 4/5 starters we can try in a rotation spot.
  25. Wouldn't be too hard on IU today. I don't think this UM team is particularly talented after the injuries to Walton and LeVert (and the significant NBA attrition) but in the 6 games without LeVert they've won at Rutgers, lost in OT to Wisconsin, beat Nebraska, lost in OT at MSU, got blown out by Iowa and then the close loss in Bloomington.
