  1. The Bears arent actually considering getting rid of Cutler to save moneey. Even complete idiot GMs arent that stupid. This is all media scrutiny in order to cater to meatball fans. Cutler isnt going anywhere unless Tennessee offers their first round pick for him. Fans and some media members just cant think clearly or rationally about this. No Cutler, no chance to compete. According to Bernstein the Bears maybe trying to go the Cubs route and suck to get better. He's got a raging boner about it. Every time he talks about it you can hear the glee in his voice. I guess no one told him that a team doesn't need to do that in the NFL. God that's idiotic. I could be wrong but I don't think any team ever goes into a season hoping to tank in the NFL. Even the Jacksonvilles of the world hope that a good draft class, an easy schedule and some luck will get them into the playoffs. After 6-8 games sure there are some teams with an eye on better draft positioning.
  2. I just don't understand the need for another big without getting rid of one. The advance stats suggest that Mirotic should be playing more (at the 4, not the 3) and is already struggling for minutes. Getting Perk would give him less playing time. And he's certainly not a guy thats going to stretch the floor like Mirotic would.
  3. I don't necessarily think the depth of the conference is an issue, there are just less legit contenders this year. By KenPom: Top 10 teams: 3 vs. 1 Top 20 teams: 4 vs. 2 (full disclosure MSU is 21st this year) Top 30 teams: 5 vs. 3 Top 50 teams: 8 vs. 6 (again full disclosure Indiana is 51st this year) Then it evens out Top 70 teams: 9 vs. 9 Top 90 teams: 10 vs. 10 Top 100 teams: 11 vs. 11 Last year the last Big Ten team (NW) was 131st, this year the bottom 3 teams are Nebraska (110), NW (122), Rutgers (203). So beyond the top 50, Maryland and Rutgers were added, Maryland basically replaced Nebraska in the top 50, and Rutgers was bad like we expected. Also is Ohio State really the 14th best team in the country? Geez, I would have guessed somewhere in the high 30's
  4. No ones saying it ruins hockey just that it's stupid and we (I) don't like it
  5. Ugh. What the hell do we need another frontcourt guy for? Perkins is barely better than Nazr at this point. Can't wait to see Hinrich and Perkins attempting to close out playoff games
  6. THISs There is no freaking reason to have loser's points. You play for 65 minutes and its still tied, you take your point and move onto the next one. No need to add a skills competition to force a winner. I wonder how many times a playoff spot was decided by a team with more shootout wins. I'm sure its not a ton but it's probably happened. Off the top of my head 2010 Flyers, got in because they won the shootout in the last regular season game. Of course we all know they made it all the way to the Cup Final only to lose to the Hawks This is true, but I was more referring to a playoff team that wouldn't be in the playoffs if the loser's point didn't exist. Here's an example: Here is the bottom of the West playoff bracket currently: WC1: Winnipeg 30-19-10 70 points Pacific 2: Calgary 32-22-4 68 points Pacific 3: Vancouver 32-21-3 67 points WC2: Los Angeles 27-28-23 66 points OUT: San Jose 29-22-8 66 points Here is how the standings would look if at the end of OT both teams got a point: Pacific 2: Vancouver 30-23-3 63 points Pacific 3: Calgary 29-25-4 62 points WC1: San Jose 27-25-7 61 points WC2: Los Angeles 26-23-8 60 points OUT: Winnipeg 24-25-10 58 points So Winnipeg goes from 4 points up on a playoff spot to 2 points behind San Jose goes from out of the playoffs to the first WC spot Vancouver and Calgary switch places
  7. Wow a lot just happened

  9. Truth. God I hate the Wings so much. Really wanted that crapshoot to pay off
  10. Hossa is not much better. How is Saad? We need a replacement there.
  11. Carwford has been horrible in the shootout lately. Wings get 4 points out of 4 from the Hawks this year. [expletive] shootouts
  12. Man this is a spanking. wings are still annoyingly good at puck possession
  13. Haha and of course right after I bitch again the Hawks tie it up
  14. Unbelievable. Absolutely terrible clearing attempt. Tried to get too pretty instead of clearing and instead it's a turnover and goal. 2 mins away from 0 points tonight. And as good as the Hawks played the first half of the game the Wings have dominated us in the 2nd half
  15. Yup. Might be one of those games we completely completely completely dominate and lose Seriously this has been a thorough butt whipping by the Hawks Edit: oops got it right back
  16. So is there a real chance that the Cubs would be forced to halt construction?
  17. The only 2 guys that I can think of that have been worse are Rosenbloom and Sean Salisbury (seriously do you remember how awful that show was?)
  18. Doesn't work like that in football. Yes I'm aware that you will argue that it doesn't work like that in baseball either.
  19. I definitely got the feeling that Rozner wanted the gig and was a finalist with the way they were talking him up and repeatedly calling him a professional immediately after the announcement was made.
  20. Or sports fans who interact with them on the internet are unreasonably insane. Yeah, I can't even imagine what it's like to be on twitter as a Chicago sports media personality. Also, UMFan....moral, not morale. I thought that looked weird.
  21. HAHA! I usually don't antagonize people on Twitter but as a dejected Bulls fan after striking out on LeBron and Wade, I mocked him for "reporting" that Wade to the Bulls was imminent. I think a lot of people mocked him and he blocked them all. Kaplan has me blocked, and I have no idea why. I didn't notice until recently. I'm sure I said something snarky to him about the Kap and Haugh ads....hehe Kaplan, Bernstein (which sucks because I actually like him), Holmes, and the Mully & Hanley show page (lol) have all blocked me. Morale of the story is that sports radio personalities are unreasonably sensitive

  23. It's Goff That [expletive] still has me blocked on Twitter
  24. Meatballs in Chicago rejoice! It definitely doesnt sound good for Cutler and Marshall.
  25. @LaurenceHolmes It's a good day for @670TheScore! Make sure you're listening at 1250. That means its either him or they brought one of his buddies (Goff?)
