    Him and Mike Murphy are like roaches, they somehow continue to exist in the sports media world. I always do a double take when I hear Murphy's voice on ESPN 1000 on the weekends.

    This has come up a few times on here re: Sale. Going into the season (going as far back as Sox Fest), Sale (much like Arrieta) and Cooper talked about him setting out to pitch to contact more this season, so this would obviously follow from that. Whether you believe that to be the primary reason or not (and therefore just a decline in performance) is up for debate. It hasn't really helped him go much deeper into games, though. His velo is down from last year but right in line with the rest of his career as a starter. That makes complete sense. His BABIP against is way way below his career norm (I think its .264)

    Speaking of RD, the Cubs are still playing roughly 7 games worse than their pythag. With average luck, the Cubs would be 76-34 and on pace to finish 112-50, so you could conclude with good luck this Cubs team would still be close to on being pace to win 116.

    I just noticed Chris Sale's FIP/xFIP is 3.64 and 3.73 respectively. An outlier year or is he having some struggles that the Sox should be concerned about moving forward?

    I love how I can go back to saying things like: -Since the 25-6 start the Cubs have played at a 90 win pace (44-35) -If the Cubs play .500 the rest of the year they will finish 95-67 -Cubs need to go 31-21 the rest of the season to win 100 -Cubs need to go 47-5 the rest of the season to win 116 games

    Nice, I went to Glavines 300th win at Wrigley and at the time I wanted the Cubs to win but I'd rather say I went to that than some meaningless 2006 Cubs win

    Rondon warmed up and was ready to go Friday. Ok that's like a half an outing. Still with an off day tomorrow id prefer to get him work. Strop at least pitched Friday

Even if they sweep us, they will be like 8 games back with 45 games left. It's a 4 game series but yeah I agree with your post And the first 3 games of the series are started by Jon Jake and Kyle. Ask the As how that's worked out for them

    Man this guy was over 60 pitches with no outs in the third. I thought he wouldn't make it out of the 4th alive. He's settled in. And by settled in I mean that the Cubs line drives are going right at fielders
