I don't know. There is a lot fundamentally wrong with the organization, but in terms of on the field results, over the past 11 seasons we've made 3 playoff appearances with a Super bowl and another conference championship appearance, had 3 other seasons where we either tied for a playoff spot at 10-6 or needed to win in week 17 to get in and didn't, and another year where we started 7-3 and surging toward the playoffs when Cutler went down for the year. that leaves only 2007, 2009, 2014 and 2015 as completely lost years. And overall, I am a believer in Pace and think that we are on the right path (although this is a big year to know for sure). All I'm saying is that yes there are a lot of stupid backwards things about this organization and yes its stupid to have to use "but they almost made the playoffs 4 other times" as an argument, but there have been several teams that would be a lot worse to follow over the last decade plus than the Bears. I absolutely love how down you can get about every other team your root for but are upbeat about a mediocre (at best) Bears team the past decade. I'm up or down about all my teams depending on when you ask me although I'm sure 90% negative UMfan from like 8 years ago still resonates with you (and not the....55% negative UMfan now :) ). And you are putting words in my mouth Raisin, I am not "upbeat" about the Bears, I said that the last decade of Bears football has not been terrible enough to be tempted to root for another team. There's no doubt the org has been shitty and the results on the field have not been acceptable, but its not like being a Browns fan where the season is over pretty much every year by early October. I have had reasons to watch Bears football in December in 7 of the last 11 seasons. I like Pace so far and think he is steering the ship in the right direction. So still shitty dysfunctional org, mildly compelling past, optimistic future, not a really a team I or anyone else should feel compelled to bail on.
