    Again the Wild Card is very winnable if the Brewers decide they don't want to ever lose again.

    http://cdn.niketalk.com/b/b7/b7b6d9e3_evensteven.png The Cubs will try to achieve a season long winning streak of 2 games as they play the Pirates who based on today aren't very good but based on the Cubs recent success after winning a game are the 27 Yankees. Jake Arrieta takes the mound for the Cubs who has been really good in 2 of his last 3 starts. We won't talk about the other start. The Pirates will counter with Nova who has been pretty good this year.

    FOX I know why it's a night game. Just saying it's unusual to see the only night game on a 6 game homestand be Saturday (partially because they've only recently allowed Saturday night games)

    Weird, tomorrow is a night game. You don't see too many 6 game homestands where the only night game is on a Saturday.

    that's an oddly timed comment considering he hit a ball 107 mph in his last at bat and just hit another one very solidly after a good AB he also has been kinda back to his average offensive self since june i havent been watching the game, I just saw his stat line following on Gameday and realized how sad it looked. I do see .805 OPS in June and .708 in July. I was hoping for a leap this year though.

    Interested in the boards thoughts on using Carl here, assuming he will only pitch the 5th inning. I think I like it but of course there's 4 more innings in the game and there could be another higher leverage inning he would be of better use in. I guess with how Strop has been pitching lately you sort of have another high leverage fireman type of guy you can slot in there later in the game.

    and none of those people would have watched his previous start in which he imploded in the 5th inning after 4 fluke scoreless innings
