  1. 11 of the last 13 Cubs batters have grounded out
  2. i feel like it's been said a hundred times lately that he's not facing his old team i wouldn't expect this from you Hah, I've been on a work retreat all week so haven't had much time to think about the upcoming rotation. Other than game thread creation my posting has been light.
  3. I just realized that with Quintana pitching tomorrow he will be the only starter to not pitch in the White Sox series
  4. If Monty is available I don't see the need for Pena especially because Seal Boy has been swinging his flipper well as of late.
  5. And he's still walking fewer batters than he did in the minors (it was over 6/9 IP -- nice -- in his last three MiLB stints/levels). Some regression was inevitable, but yeah it's been a bit extreme now. I'd wondered for a while why teams weren't being more patient with him. Even when he wasn't walking guys, his command was still pretty bad and he was getting bailed out by swings. Obviously his crazy movement is part of that. But perhaps teams indeed are being more patient on him now and forcing him to throw strikes, because few people actually hit him anyway. Wow. You just described Carlos Marmol. Man I feel confident when Carl comes in but not even close to as confident during peak Marmol. It was an 8 inning game with him in 2007
  6. I cannot by law post today's game thread but just wanted to point out that KB is back in the lineup today
  7. Yep and that is when I started to turn. I didn't think Irving wanted out that badly though. Figured it was just a possibility if/when LeBron leaves
  8. Leave it to GarPax to finally give in and rebuild right when their retooling plan became a legit possibility
  9. Yeesh, 5 walks and 3 XBH this inning and still 0 outs. This is certainly something
  10. I feel most bad for the Cubs party room. It hasn't been used enough at all this year.
  11. Kyrie asks for a trade and the theres this: Hmm why would Kyrie want to play in Minnesota specifically?
  12. This game thread is brought to you by the number 6. These are the Milwaukee Brewers. They are currently 6 games over .500. They used to be 11 games over .500 but now they are not because they are not really that good. This is Buck. Buck will turn 6 years old this year. Buck has never been alive to see his favorite team win the World Series. Buck thinks he got Kyle Schwarber's autograph. Buck is not very smart. http://cubbiescrib.com/wp-content/uploads/usat-images/2016/04/9993884-mlb-chicago-cubs-at-st.-louis-cardinals.jpeg These are the Chicago Cubs. They were supposed to be good, but they were not. Then they started laughing because they were just pretending to be bad for laughs. The Cubs have won 6 games in a row. The Cubs will continue their hot streak against the deadbirds. And if they win.....how many wins in a row does that make it? http://i.imgur.com/MHgw5YA.gif
  13. You are right. Hopefully it's not too late to save the mojo Edit: horsefeathers I just read about the injury I've been in meetings all day and just saw the score and Bryant news. Did I turn the mojo around enough?
  14. You are right. Hopefully it's not too late to save the mojo Edit: horsefeathers I just read about the injury
  15. We're going streaking! No frills game thread because the game starts in like 11 hours.
  16. We are officially streaking despite our shitty perfect closer again not blowing the game. Today the Cubs look to make it 5 in a row as someone takes the hill for the Cubs against Sean Newcomb who I know nothing about. Who is someone? Oh come on we were having fun, don't let me ruin that. Ok fine you asked for it, it's horsefeathering Lackey. Sorry to anyone who saw the thread title and figured McHorseteeth was let go or otherwise bumped from the start just so I could land my joke. Go Cubs!
  17. i think you guys misunderstood truffle. He knows that Wade won't pitch tomorrow because Lackey is starting so thank goodness we got the win tonight.
  18. This is like the 4th time Davis has turned a relatively stress free close to the game into an insane nail biter. The first 3 times he survived...
  19. horsefeathering [expletive] A strike and he swung at it
  20. Lester is averaging 5.5 runs per start over his last 2 starts
  21. Are you horsefeathering kidding me? 2nd inning in a row?
  22. THIS IS NOTHING LIKE THE FIRST HALF Lester pitched a scoreless first
