  1. Requesting that the Braves wear orange and black jerseys the rest of this series
  2. Coin flip? We're only 3 games behind Milwaukee in the loss column. Even BP has us at 60% for making the playoffs and they are the most pessimistic of the projection systems. Britton and Jones are both under control for next year too. I'm not a big fan of Jones though, His numbers have really dropped off the last couple of years.
  3. and Britton is under control for next year so good replacement for Davis if we don't extend him
  4. If you want some fun, you can go read Szymborski's interactions with Braves fans yesterday when he said it was a mirage. Basically, Braves fans chalk up the differential to Bartolo and Dickey being terrible, but can't come to grips with the fact that Freeman/Adams/Flowers have all played above their heads. I enjoyed reading it. lmao, the Braves are +7 in games Dickey has pitched and besides that, he has been one of the reasons the Braves have gotten to .500 (4 ER in his last 5 starts covering 33 IP). Bartolo is a little different (-24 RD when he pitched) but either way thats a very rudimentary argument anyways.
  5. And 2nd in MLB amongst catchers in fWAR although a lot of that is defensive value.
  6. Does Willson have his own thread yet? I would create one but I can't think of a clever title for it. Anyways, in the last month Willson has hit like a superstar. From June 16 to July 16: .356/.411/.690/1.101, 8 2B, 7 HR Yes his BABIP is .393 over that stretch but IDGAF. After a really slow start, Willson's season numbers are pretty damn close to last year's stellar rookie year in roughly the same number of PA.
  7. The Cubs went into Baltimore yada yada yada, season back on. Ok fine. The Cubs outscored the Orioles 27-11, donged 10 times oh and our new acquisition went 7 scoreless innings striking out 12 guys. Pretty damn good weekend. Now it's time to turn a good weekend into a nice long run. Go Cubs!
  8. It doesn't even feel like we're playing the same sport as we were in the first half
  9. So 3.5 more years with this dude? That's worth watching Eloy dong off us a couple times a year for the next decade
  10. Yeah but neither have the Cubs
  11. Would help it other teams also declined to shift against him. At least for that hit.
  12. A strikeout and 2 weak contacts I like it
  13. Jeez, just noticed the Dodgers are 28-4 since June 7. They are scary good which will make their inevitable playoff collapse more funny.
  14. It's Quintana day! The Orioles pitching staff really horsefeathering blows. This time they send out Ubaldo Jimenez whose ERA is 6.67 yet he's still in the rotation. Thank you for boosting our confidence and our OPS Baltimore! Let's get the horsefeathers over .500 ASAP
  15. Last time the Cubs won consecutive games was June 18-20. Until tonight! Quintana day tomorrow
  16. If tonight's scores hold the Cubs will be as close to WC2 as we are to Milwaukee. 2 playoff spots in play
  17. So many convos with my wife go like this: Wife - Can I use your charger? Me - No I still need to charge my phone Wife - Well mines at 1% what is yours at? *looks and sees its at 53% Me - Only like 10% Wife - What? You've been charging it for a half hour there's no way *looks at phone and sees 53%* Me - .....you still can't have it
  18. Jake returns to the scene of the crime which was the murder of the first half of his career by the Oriole player development system. Jake has been better of late so hoping he can show the O's how badly they fucked up. You might remember Miley as the guy who shut down the Cubs last July which got his ERA below 5 long enough for Seattle to ship him to Baltimore where he had a 6+ ERA. this year it's again hovering around 5. We should pound him.
  19. Nice one Cobs. You just blew an 8-0 lead lol
  20. Agreed. Last season's runaway regular season best record having world series winner that brought back like 22 of it's 25 man roster isn't very good.l It just means last year's team was a giant fluke and this 85 game sample is the true indicator of their talent
  21. Yeah so much for that 2-0 Phillies lead, the Brewers just put up an 8 spot
  22. Just 62-15-1 to equal last year's record HEY RIDE!! What was our record after the Bryant walkoff vs Colorado in 2015, out of curiosity? The number 45-18 jumps out in my head. I think that was the record from after that Rockies series on
