  1. I think he meant the first team to do it against the might Coob
  2. I really do think Hendry and Wayne Krivsky are one in the same. We don't need more bullpen help. We need offense from RF, CF, C, SS. Don't you need a decent LOOGY in the playoffs?
  3. We have won one playoff series in the last 100 years and Kerry is the main reason for it. That is why he can do nothing for three years yet still be the best. Too bad game 7 happened? Where was he in that one?
  4. I just saw video of it on the news and it looks TERRIBLE. It is much worse than I thought it was hearing some of the players describe it. There must be 100 brown patches and holes in the ground. Some look to be a couple of feet big. There are a couple of large sections of sod put in that look to be 5 feet by 10 feet or so. All in all it looks terrible. I am embarrassed as a Cubs fan that our players have to play on a field that crappy.
  5. I don't know how big the spots are, but I heard that they are going to let the majority of them fill themselves in. That won't happen this season though because grass seeds itself in the spring.
  6. You can't tell the depth perception on that video. The ump could have been 20 feet behind him.
  7. Terry Boers from the SCORE said that he heard rumors that the Bulls want Curry back. Why would New York want to get rid of him? Too many scorers and reduce payroll?
  8. He was on vacation last week. I don't know about this week.
  9. I don't think the players noticed, but if they did they weren't running to his defense or anything. I guess they didn't know if he was attacking Howry or just running around. Either Howry had his back turned or he didn't want to fight him. I had my money on Howry. He had just given up some runs and is a large man. But that fan did it all for naught. He got mad at Howry for blowing the lead and the Cubs came back to win.
  10. I heard Z say that he wasn't afraid to throw his splitter now because he has confidence in his catcher? Can anyone confirm this?
  11. Actually Fuentes is tough against righties than lefties this year. Lefties hit .030 points higher.
  12. Well I saw the batter frantically motion then Comcast put on the view that is right at where Len and Bob were sitting so everyone could see it. I guess it was just an accident and the high view was the next scheduled view. Was anyone suprised that no lefties were brought up? I didn't think Fuentes' ERA against lefties was much worse than against righties.
  13. Top of the 9th. It was during the Howry mess. I think there were no outs or 1 out. The Rocky batter pointed at the sideline and then the Comcast camera spotted him and he was running at the direction of Howry. The Cubs infield approached. The fan came from the Rocky side of the field and about 5 security personnel came running. I didn't know at first if they were other crazy fans or security personnel. But of one of them absolutely clotheslined the person right in front of the mound. The Comcast cameras gave us a perfect view of the thing for about 5 seconds or so.
  14. Great, great AB by Hill. That was a great piece of hitting to pull that one down the line. Fuentes is no slouch. Tonight he was though.
  15. Kaspar didn't sound that happy. He wasn't going crazy like I am sure Ron was. Was that fan on the field going after Howry? He got clotheslined by a security person. Then all the Cub players looked liked they wanted to come in in clean up.
  16. ESPN has it that the Bears released Tank Williams. Who's he?
  17. So If Tank got a true DUI he is for sure let go right? What if he was just under the legal limit?
  18. How did Hawk not know that Pagan was obstructed? The WGN announcers figured that out right away. After all, Hawk criticized the umps for not being able to see the whole field like he can.
  19. The umps made the right call. When Uribe bumped into Pagan, an obstruction is noted and the 3rd base ump correctly raised his hand. The play continues until the Sox make a play on Pagan which they did. Everything that happens after that is nullified. Pagan gets his base and everyone else is safe.
  20. He comes across a little weird. A little slow.
  21. If a player is sitting high up in the dugout (when they sit on the top of the bench), can they see the field better than Lou can? Can Lou get a taller chair or do anything to see the field better?
  22. http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports_hardball/ Did anyone see this yet?
