The home/away homerun totals are not that different. The 2006 stats need to be divided between the home field as Wrigley and the home field as Dodger Stadium.
Which pitcher has better numbers since the 2006 trade? Granted Maddux has played in pitcher's parks, but the stats were surprising. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/cs-080301-carlos-zambrano-chicago-cubs,1,3920805.story
So possible suitors are Bob Knight and Scott Skiles. Anyone else? Also, you think Knight quit TT knowing that there was a good chance Samson would be out and that he would get another shot at a national championship?
It's pretty common for boosters of a large program to donate large amounts of money just to pay a buyout of a coach they don't like. But wouldn't IU buy him out regardless of the booster? But if the booster knows that something might be happening with Samson and he offers half a million, it is hard to turn that down. I just didn't know that boosters could be that direct with the money in that it can go directly where they want it.
Scott Skiles as new IU head coach? I always thought he would be a better college coach than NBA coach. Why does an anonymous donor have to pay half a million? Why wouldn't the university pay?
It's tough to disparage Kenny Williams when he has a championship and Hendry doesn't. Hendry may think of himself as a straight shooter, but doing that results in overpaying.
What do you think of the Vandemeer trade? Yeah, the Hawks might not have been able to sign him next year for the 2-3 million a year he might want, but getting a fourth line player in return isn't better than keeping Vandemeer for the year.
Do you want to win, or do you want to have a happy clubhouse? Winning makes a happy clubhouse. I think keeping Prior would have increased the Cubs' chances of winning.
