  1. I think Pat has won national broadcaster of the year awards or something like that in the past with Milwaukee. Does WGN have a mic on the field to pick up the ball hitting the bat or glove? How do they work that?
  2. Who else are classic announcers? Ernie Harwell Vin Scully Milo Hamilton Jack Brickhouse
  3. So you you guys like Ron? Personally, I wish he would retire because he doesn't too much to the table. I always thought people were getting tired or Ron on this board but maybe I was wrong.
  4. How does he rate as an announcer? Does he broadcast to Santo's level?
  5. Why, is there news? The beginning of the end for Prior was the collision with Giles and the fact that the MLB has a stricter stance on steroids.
  6. Stop this curse crap. Didn't the Bears win in the 60's while playing in Wrigley Field.
  7. I remember when Leyland went off on his team about this time last year and it worked for them. Yelling doesn't always work obviously, but if Lou's good at it give it a shot!
  8. It's been bothering him since ST and I guess it's a bit swollen today. I heard he might miss tomorrow's game also. There has to be something else going on because a hand just doesn't get swollen all by itself. I hope the Cubs don't pull a Prior and say there is nothing to it if there really is.
  9. He is healthy. This is the Mark Prior minus steroids.
  10. The pen gave up no earned runs today! Wait a second... So what happened to Aramis' hand? He had two days off, what's the deal?
  11. The Bears also got Archuleta, Daniel Manning, and Chris Harris. Brown is the best of the group, but they might try to save money by cutting him. I hope he stays, but they seem to be overloaded at safety. A Brown/Archuleta tandom is what I'd like to see vs the Chargers.
  12. No they are not. It will be a tough test. The Bears D will be fully healthy with Harris and Brown. So while I do think the Chargers will beat the Bears, but I doubt the Chargers "are going to crush the Bears" as you think. I'm thinking a 7 point differential. Isn't Brown's contract up? I wonder if he will be resigned? All Browns are signed and accounted for. Even if the Raiders improve, they are still pathetic. The Eagles were already a 10-6 playoff team, they're good, but I don't see them being much, if any, better. They are probably toward the tail end of their run right now. The Chiefs? They may have already gotten best they will get out of Larry Johnson, whose production already slipped with a huge workload. If they seriously count on Huard to lead them, I'm not sure they will be much of a threat. They were the epitome of average last year, and I don't see that team being a whole lot more. The Seahawks are an interesting case. They are probably on the backend of their window, which started when Hasselback and Alexander took over and produced a lot of above average and some really good seasons. Unless the long lost Barber brother regains his pre-injury greatness, I'm not sure Seattle will be any better than they were last year. But I do see them as a likely favorite at home against the Bears. I am not saying the Bears won't defeat these teams. I am saying that they will be improved so that the Bears really won't have the second easiest schedule in the league. The Seahawks will have Alexander healthy. The Eagles will have McNabb.

So while I do think the Chargers will beat the Bears, but I doubt the Chargers "are going to crush the Bears" as you think. I'm thinking a 7 point differential. Isn't Brown's contract up? I wonder if he will be resigned? Even if it was....both Lovie and Angelos knows how important of a leader Mike Brown is to the team. So Mike would be back regardless. I heard he is a great leader sitting on the bench injured! I would give him another year just with the hope that he comes back and can play a whole year.

  15. That's assuming that teams like the Raiders, Eagles, Chiefs, Seahawks won't improve. I think this is a fairly tough schedule for 2007.
  16. I find this hilarious. Would you rather have Tyrus' and Wallace's combined 11.5/14.5 or Curry's 19 and 7? Not to mention the blocks, steals, and intangibles that Ben and TT bring to the table. We have enough scoring from Loul/BG/Kirk. I am pretty comfortable in saying that we would be a worse team if we had stuck with Eddy. I forgot that TT came in that deal. I like Aldridge - I wonder who becomes the better player. But remember that if the Bulls had Eddy the outside would open up even more for Ben. He might score more. If the Bulls somehow manage a good draft pick from the Knicks then the trade is even better. But straight up, I'd take Eddy over Big Ben.
  17. Garbage time? If you are thinking of their season as a whole yes. He is the leading scorer in the paint for the NBA. I'd take his 19 points and 7 rebs over Wallace's 7 points and 10 rebs anyday. Plus his contract is cheaper. At least this year it is. I know Wallace brings much more than his box score shows, but I still would rather have Curry. If Curry ever got motivated, man could he be a force.
  18. Why can't it be before the Thursday game? I don't understand why the NFL insists on sending teams out there on 3 days rest late in the season. Use the byes for teams playing on Thanksgiving and every Thursday game. Darn I didn't realize that. Yeah they should have scheduled it before the Thursday game.
  19. 9/9 @ CHARGERS, 3:15 PM Loss 9/16 VS. CHIEFS, 3:15 PM Win 9/23 VS. COWBOYS, 7:15 PM Loss 9/30 @ LIONS, Noon Win 10/7 @ PACKERS, 7:15 PM Win 10/14 VS. VIKINGS, Noon Win 10/21 @ EAGLES, 3:15 PM Loss 10/28 VS. LIONS, Noon Win 11/11 @ RAIDERS, 3:15 PM Win 11/18 @ SEAHAWKS, 7:15 PM Win 11/25 VS. BRONCOS, Noon Loss 12/2 VS. GIANTS, 3:15 PM Win 12/6 @ REDSKINS, 7:15 PM Win 12/17 @ VIKINGS, 7:30 PM Win 12/23 VS. PACKERS, Noon Win 12/30 VS. SAINTS, Noon Loss 11-5 is my prediction. The Bears win the division, but have to play in the opening playoff series. They win their first two playoff games and lose the NFC Championship to the Cowboys. Benson gets hurt 5 games in, but comes back late in the year. Briggs plays the whole season and plays well. Grossman improves slightly, but still throws far too many interceptions. The defensive line is strengthened by, shoot the guy from OK who got hurt early on last year. Good season, but not good enough.
  20. At least the bye is in the middle of the season
  21. I am almost positive that the limit is 5
  22. He gets to hit against Cub pitching though. Blauser was a Cub killer. But he hit against Cub pitching.
