He meant to say Elgin Hyundai but he seemed to say Elgin Honda. Then he also said “Elgin Hyundai, Home of Twenty Hundred Thousand Mile Warranty.” -
Hey, look on the bright side they’re all going to be fresh at the end of the season and be well under their normal innings pitched. Except our only good starting pitcher in Ben Brown!

When you outspend everyone else in the division, almost never win the division, and don’t have a particularly good farm system, why would anyone want to keep you? -

The Cubs are right at the back end of pitching velocity since 2018. How can you not go out and get more hard-throwing pitchers knowing how important they are? -
How many Cubs players are outperforming their projections? Is it Ben Brown only?

Pressly had a streak where he only gave up earned runs in 2 of 34 appearances. He fell apart at the end, but Maton hasn’t had anything like that.

They would get a worse deal for them with Kevin Warren gone because you only fire him if you want Arlington Heights and the state isn’t budging on that

The Cubs have had one of the softest throwing staffs since 2018. When asked about this, Carter Hawkins had no answers. But he never has. He spends his time explaining away why he and Jed still have their jobs while underachieving every year and outspending every team in the division.

Counsell brings very little and he has no answers, but Tom isn’t paying him to go away until at least the end of this season

The Cubs’ three biggest contracts given out are Heyward, Swanson, and Bregman. All three might turn out to be bad contracts. With that said, of the four FA SSs in the winter of 2022 that were signed (Swanson, Turner, Correa, Bogaerts), Dansby has accumulated the most WAR of all of them in the last 3.5 years.

Why are you bunting with first and second nobody out against Assad? If it’s Bregman up, I understand. But you’re pitching against Javier Assad.

Counsell gives veterans who have played historically well a really long rope and he’s given Bregman an even longer rope. Bregman has left the most runners on base in the majors this year. Move him down a few spots. Send a message.

I don’t care how good he has been before this season or how big his contract is, at this point he has to prove he belongs hitting 3rd or 4th. His OPS has declined every month since the start of the season. Batting him 3rd or 4th is on Counsell.

Stacey went a little over the top at times, but he was really a great color analyst. Even when the Bulls were bad, he was a reason to tune in and made a great pairing with Adam Amin and Neil Funk. RIP!

That was supposed to be sugar on top. For whatever reason Bregman is having the worst year by far of his career. And it doesn’t help that Counsell continues to hit him in the top of the order.

It’s hard to be a leader when you suck. Hard to call out others when you are the one that needs to be called out.
