  1. Not sure Tom would allow it at this point in the season
  2. Counsell has a small role to play in this mess, but sometimes players need a new voice. If the Cubs become sellers at the deadline, I can see him fired.
  3. They also replaced the irreplaceable Craig Counsell with two-time manager of the year aware winner Pat Murphy
  4. There's talk that lenders won't approve the Bears loans to finance the stadium until they get guarantees on their property tax bill
  5. If you come across as self-important, at least get things done. He can’t. If the Bears can’t afford a stadium, sell the team to someone who can. No reason for the Bears to be getting out of paying property taxes in a state that kills its residents on property taxes.
  6. Kevin Warren convinced the McCaskeys to spend on Ben Johnson. But everything else he’s done with the Bears has been terrible and he needs to be fired.
  7. This team is just a slightly above average. Jed won’t pay for stars and Tom won’t go deep into luxury tax range. Without a great developmental program, the Cubs won’t be great and this team is not great.
  8. There’s more rumors now that the Bears are talking to the city of Chicago again and approached them. Others are saying they are talking, but it’s not about a new stadium. It’s about how the Bears would leave Soldier Field and the money they owe them. Or this is another one of Kevin Warren‘s leverage plays because he knows Hammond isn’t really suitable for a football stadium and Arlington Heights isn’t stuck in the mud.
  9. But you need parking for the Bears. I just don’t think the plot is big enough.
  10. I doubt Rate Field is big enough
  11. Shows, Final Fours, Big Ten Championship games, and a Super Bowl
  12. Shota isn’t getting a two-year contract from the Cubs. I would be surprised if he’s even back next year. He was hot early, but he is an average to poor pitcher.
  13. But won’t the new stadium bring a lot more tax revenue than Soldier Field currently does? It will be a dome and will have a lot more big events all year. It will also raise the property tax dollars all around the stadium. The state is expecting to borrow from this tax increase for some of the infrastructure work needed.
  14. Unless the ground in Hammond is unsuitable to hold a stadium
