“The new law would allow any municipality (including Chicago) to form an authority that would own and operate the stadium, with no property taxes being paid. Taxpayers would be responsible only for new roads and other infrastructure.” Wait, I thought Bears wanted lower and secure property taxes and for the infrastructure to be paid for by the taxpayers? Now they pay no property taxes and the taxpayers still to pay for infrastructure improvements near the stadium? I don’t have access to Crain’s, but there must be something in there that the state can make a lot money by owning the stadium or this new proposal isn’t going anywhere.

Simmons is under contract for 2.5 more years though

Ben Johnson was asked about Jaylon Johnson today and he said he has been up and down, but players like Daniel Hardy can get more playing time if they perform better. That’s obviously a warning shot that Jaylon isn’t guaranteed anything moving forward if he keeps playing poorly. But for Jaylon to lose playing time, Muhammad has to be healthy.
