  1. Why would you use "doesn't play" rather than "doesn't start" Doesn't make much sense to fault Bradley for losses in games where he has one pinch hit appearance. Oh probably cause they're 25-21 in games he doesn't start in and it wouldn't convince the masses that he needs to go.
  2. That commercial for Illinois was embarrassing. Like it was filmed in 1987
  3. Illinois playing like [expletive] morons.
  4. Hey. He was traded for Ken Griffey, Jr. One of the greatest players of our generation. He's got to be good if the Reds got Griffey for him 10 years ago. And yes, OMC, this would be the ultimate Cubs move: Sign a guy who used to be good a long time ago but is worthless now, and then the front office crows about the big-name FA we signed and how they're trying their damndest to win. Besides successfully taking a flier on Jim Edmonds at league minimum, when the hell was the last time the Cubs have done this? If anything, their most recent MO has been to overpay players coming off the best year's of their career. I wouldn't be able to argue with that. Your Cubs melodrama reaches insane proportions sometimes. He's still furious about Willie Wilson.
  5. Beyond the fact that this isn't true(Kubel, Cuddyer, Span), if it were true, why would it only be so if they win the division?
  6. If he doesn't make the big league team, he'll be optioned to AAA.
  7. Crawford has a lot of value, there's no reason to not pick up the option when they can pick it up and trade him.
  8. I think he'll end up there, eventually. I'd bet he gets one more season to show he can stay healthy in a rotation, though. What counts a healthy season? The past 2 have been fairly healthy.
  9. What current managers do you see being more worthy? I could see a case for LaRussa and possibly Torre. I'd take Bobby over either one, though. maybe a better question would be if Cox makes it who doesn't? Because if Cox makes it then Mike Scosicia, Joe Torre, LaRussa, Terry Francona, Lou Piniella they should be in the Hall of Fame. I think what has Cox being talked about as a potential Hall of Famer is because of the 14 straight division titles. I think what got Hank Aaron talked about was the 755 HRs.
  10. Well that makes no damn sense.
  11. Burrell would make 9.2M next year, with no more years beyond that. If they're intent on trading Bradley, this isn't a terrible move. He is just a horrendous OF though.
  12. I'm a sucker for failed propsects, so I'm pretty happy to see this.
  13. Quick check has SNY showing Big East football and Jets non-game programming. NESN has the Bruins. The Cubs channel would have to become the home of the Fire, Rush, Sky, Shamrocks, just to fill a schedule.
  14. Cubography: Jim Bullinger
  15. I was just going to post this. Why in the hell did the Cubs previous owner sign a contract with comcast that runs until 2019? The cubs should've started their own network years ago. Regardless, the Cubs make a good buck! The Cubs are 1/4 owners of Comcast. I don't think a Cub only network would work out. Why not? Isn't even YES a joint venture with the Nets? If all you have is the Cubs for sports programming you're gonna have a lot of C-level sporting events to bid against Comcast for. I just don't think it's feasible.
  16. How is that a tough decision?
  17. Why don't we keep Bradley and trade all 24 other players, replace all of the coaches, replace everyone in the front office, and move the team to some small town in Nebraska where there will be minimal fans and media to bother him. All problems solved! Cause you can't play baseball with only 1 player. And I don't think MLB would approve of a move to a small town in Nebraska. I don't think you thought this through at all.
  18. Because he would have fought the move to the DL, the MLBPA would have gotten involved and it never would have worked. That would create a hell of a lot more animosity and a "there's no coming back" situation than the current team suspension. Hmmm, I wonder if that's part of the reason he was suspended. Hendry wanted to DL him due to the knee issue, Bradley told him no he was able to play, and then when called upon said he couldn't. Don't let Paul Sullivan hear that or it will be reported as the truth. Why are you making things up to defend a guy who has had serious "issues" his whole career? Bradley has acted like this his whole career and that's why nobody wants him. Did you mean to respond to me? How am I defending Bradley in that post? And I don't know why I keep bothering making points since everyone keeps ignoring them, but multiple teams did want Bradley this past offseason.
  19. Bradley tried to at the beginning of the year, and the Cubs made him. I still don't really know why.
  20. I can't imagine it currently makes economic sense for the Cubs to build a new stadium unless the city paid for it(which will never happen, and I'm morally opposed to that bull [expletive] anyway.)

  22. I've been reading about him the last couple years and he's pretty much the reason why I can't hate Miami anymore. Was gonna say pretty much the same thing.
  23. Hendry had no leverage to begin with. Right. I still have no idea why we gave him a freaking 3 year deal. Was anybody even offering him anything beyond 1 year? Yes, I know at least Tampa was offering him a 2 year deal.(I believe with an option?) Texas was interested but I believe dropped out early when it became clear how much he would cost. Not sure there were ever years attached.
  24. Either way we are screwed. I'd rather get rid of him and be sucky, then have to deal with this again and still be sucky next year. The most important issue is to be not sucky next year. Trying to make the Bradley situation work is the best way to do that. Which is to get rid of him. You think we'll be a better team with Micah Hoffpauir/Sam Fuld/Jake Fox in RF?
  25. Yep and so is Adam Dunn. It's obvious the defense is going to take a hit compared to Cameron CF - Fukudome RF. That's a given. But none of them are close to Dunn offensively. (Holy crap did Dye fall off a cliff this year) They're actually somewhat similar to Cameron offensively. (Fox is somewhat of a wild card I guess, but I don't see a 900 OPS out of him for a full season
