  1. Why does everyone who's disagreeing with the worst poster on this site since Mizzou getting awful straw men attributed to them?
  2. Len gave a much more reasoned take on the Bradley situation, and basically clammed up when Brenly went on his cubstitle-esque rant.
  3. And because of that history you'd think the Cubs would be prepared for this kind of thing. That they'd take the proper steps both to prevent incidents from happening, along with giving him some leeway when they do happen. If you aren't willing to do that, then you don't sign the guy. It looks like as usual, Hendry took the best season from a player and assumed he would continue at that pace, this time both his on the field performance and his personality.
  4. He hurt Cubs fans feelings do I have to draw you a picture? ETA: I see the end of Zambrano's career being similar to the end of Sammy's. All a sudden the stories will come out about how disruptive he was, how great it was to not have to worry about a locker room divided. Nobody shovels dirt on the grave of a former player like the Cubs. Point being Zambrano's idiosynchracies are put up with because he's done well. Bradley didn't do well(though not nearly as bad as the buffoons would have you believe), thus he's a cancer that must go. Zambrano's more personable and presumably has some friends on the team. Milton made connections with Gathright and Gerald Perry. Both were removed and following that he distanced himself from the rest of the team. Both guys are passionate and play their asses off when on the field. Both get emotional when things don't go their way.

  6. Keep waiting one of Cubstitle's images to be Bradley hanging from a tree.
  7. How long was Carlos Zambrano suspended for punching his own teammate? In my opinion Z's actions over the last few years have been a hell of alot worse than anything Bradley has said or done. Yet Jim Hendry hasnt done a damn thing to Z. Bradley is being used as a scapegoat, and had he been putting up numbers all year, and the Cubs werent way out of it, not a damn thing would have been done to Bradley. Hendry is trying to satisfy the [expletive] fans of this teams, and take the attention away from this [expletive] team, and his horrible off season. no zambrano has not i don't think anyone has ever offered any quote referencing Z not contributing to a positive team atmosphere Cause Zambrano's still on the team? Zambrano's had heat with his teammates and his manager in public. He had his questionable injury this year. Where's Z's suspension?
  8. i agree with a lot of his points, but the piling on by his teammates is pretty damning, and joe didn't touch on that at all. I think the only thing that was damning was Dempster's comments. The rest were pretty tame and expected considering they were talking about a guy who was just punished by their boss. Were they supposed to say, "man Hendry's a [expletive] idiot"
  9. Only after the ink is dry will be dastardly plot come to fruition MUUUUUHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Moron.
  10. If we have to trade Bradley, I'm pretty sure I make that trade. NY, yours is crazily lopsided for us.
  11. More like Milton Badley.
  12. Really? Is that just your opinion, or are you basing it off of something? I'd be pretty surprised to see Clausen leave early.
  13. Gooney, I think you're overestimating the Cubs intelligence with regards to sample size and underestimating their ability to pat themselves on the back. If their unheralded 1st rounder goes on to hit 400 in these last 2 weeks(BA being what's really important), you'll have the idiot fans clamoring for this young stud to play everyday, and you'll have the idiots in the front office talking about how nobody saw what they did in Colvin.
  14. Colvin having a hot 2 weeks to end the season sounds like just about the worst thing that could happen to this team.
  15. Rooting for a sports team is nothing like watching a TV show. You're not rooting for Wheel of Fortune to win its timeslot in the ratings. Sports is entertainment, but it's competition too.
  16. DL him. Forcing a guy onto the DL when he doesn't need to go on the DL is the same thing as suspending him. You think other front offices will be fooled by such a move? If they got away with DLing him to end the season, the 3rd year could be bought out for 2M.
  17. Whereas I thought he kept signing 1 year contracts because he was only a free agent once before this, and that was following a season ended by a knee injury.
  18. It worked with Reed Johnson because he's the short end of a platoon. Reed Johnson as an everyday player has been and will be terrible.
  19. There's nothing else to say.
  20. This implies that Milton knew he was going to be disruptive here, which is crazy. As I said the guy is unbalanced, you don't think he believed everything he said when he did? You think he likes being in this situation?
  21. the park certainly helped, but he was still really good. he's shown he can get hot and putu p big numbers. the problem is, most years he doesn't get that hot. also, iirc milton had a ridiculous babip last season I do think there is something to the whole "contract year" phenomenon. Not just with Milton, but with tons of other guys as well. There is not. Adrian Beltre says hi. Oh, nevermind, you're absolutely right.
  22. I'd laugh my ass off if they traded Bradley for Guillen after Guillen got suspended at the end of a season by Anaheim. I'd also cry my ass off cause Guillen [expletive] blows.
  23. Randy Winn or Marlon Byrd seem Hendry-esque depending on whatever dumb [expletive] plan he comes up with for 2010.
  24. Oh man, I have a feeling this thread is going to keep making me sad. Eric Byrnes is terrible.
