  1. He also put up a 94 in '06. And a 114 in a little over half a season in '03. The guy could absolutely hit. It's possible to be a good hitter with below average command of the zone. He just seemed to just lose it completely, and I have to believe a hacktastic hitting coach/manager hepled contribute to that.
  2. I'm the biggest nerd. 170/180. McClendon, Maldonado, Beuchele, Navarro, Brant and Rosie Brown, DeShields, and Todd [expletive] Hundley.
  3. It's true. Beal will be there along with the entire Chaminade team. This recruitment is going to be pretty interesting going forward, but Self certainly got a big leg up on Weber by inviting the entire team. He pretty much made sure Beal would be in Lawrence by doing that. Also KU's Madness is way sweeter than the one at Illinois. I don't think that entire Chaminade team rumor is accurate. I'm hearing just Beal and his coach. The coach is what concerns me. He's pushing him towards KU. We need him on campus soon, and if Leonard and Abrams happened to be down there that same weekend, that'd be nice.
  4. http://www.mrn8.com/pics/albums/userpics/thumb_Chicago-Cubs-Logo-2.gif Win IT'S FUNNY, BECAUSE THEY'RE THE CUBS AND THEY DON'T WIN we sure don't At least you won't spend $1000+(less than that) on season tickets
  5. Jaramillo worked successfully with Soriano?
  6. that had better be a really good pitching prospect. Just tweak with prospects and/or money

I have to be honest, I always thought Midnight madness was a bit of a snooze. The scrimmages are always boring, the skits are always lame. The buildup is cool, and when the players come out the first time, it's awesome. After that...kinda boring. I'm surprised Beal came to ours this year since I'm pretty sure he was at ours last season. Can't hurt. I really want that guy. He was at both of ours last year. Ours was a couple weeks before yours I believe.
  8. You spent $1000 on Ole Miss season tickets???
  9. Charles Gipson, who had come in to pinch run for Posada. And was in our camp in spring training.
  10. Howard vs. lefties 2009: 207/.298/.356 Howard vs. lefties career: .226/.310/.444
  11. This should absolutely be Joe Beimel pitching right now. Howard can't hit lefties.
  12. Manny Acta is not incompetent. I'm pretty sure Al Pedrique is.
  13. I want them to re-hire Garner for hilarity's sake.
  14. Figgins was moved off of SS while he was at AA in Colorado's system. The guy who played SS that season was a 26 year old non-prospect.
  15. Stuck in the mat behind the OF fence.
  16. http://espn.go.com/college-football/heisman09/index He's definatly a candidate, and will probably be asked to attend NY assuming he doesn't get hurt. I don't think he is going to have a chance to win unless he really lights up USC. This is pretty much his only statement game that he has left on his schedule to win over voters, where others will have bigger games on schedule come the end of the regular season. Agreed. Pitt's probably the only other team on the schedule that could be ranked when they play them, and even if they are it'll pale in comparison to the 2nd best opponent McCoy or Tebow have left.

  20. Sosa's HR to the camera well in CF wasn't really significant from a game perspective(we were blowing them out), but holy [expletive]
  21. I really like Cal, A&M, and KU.
  22. Because he's been blackballed by the commissioner due to steroids. Manny Ramirez Gary Sheffield Alex Rodriguez ect... All still can find a job in MLB. None of them broke Bud Selig's hero's record. None of them are as hated by the casual fan either. You think the Giants suffered by having Barry [expletive] Bonds on their teams?
  23. Because he's been blackballed by the commissioner due to steroids.
  24. Almost as dishonest as those who, due to either an irrational hatred of the general manager, a strident and close-minded adherence to neo-sabermetric principles (without examining the evidence), or just a general contrarian attitude, refuse to admit that his behavior had any negative impact on the team. I think what we're waiting for is one shred of evidence that Bradley's mere presence made the team worse, and nobody seems to have that for us other than to say he's been on a lot of teams.
  25. Let me be the first to say that the Cardinals clearly need to get more lefthanded this offseason. I personally love(considering it was the Dodgers that inspired that) that the first 2 Dodger starters this year were lefties.
