Goony, you keep saying Ryan has had 3 great years. His '03 is not what I'd qualify as great. First off he had way fewer innings than appearances, meaning he likely was more of a LOOGY than a regular reliever, and his ERA+ of 128 isn't even close to great from a LOOGY. -

Maybe a lot of GMs with money are ignorant and don't understand park factors. -
In pretty much every year that at-large matchup is going to be better than at least 1 of the other BCS bowls.

Assuming USC and Texas win next week, I think the 2 at-large spots deserve to go to 2 of Notre Dame, OSU, Oregon, and Auburn.(I'd lean towards OSU and Oregon, but contrary to popular belief no group of those 2 is a ridiculous choice.) If USC loses I'd say both them and UCLA belong. If Texas loses, I'd say they go into the maybe group with the other 4. (A loss to Colorado heading into the bowls is pretty inexcusable)

Because ND fans (at least the logical ones) weren't complaining in '02 when they didn't make a BCS bowl despite having met the requirements. They weren't taken as the system leaves an option to not be taken, and that was that. The Miamis of the world are the rich kids that only get a new BMW every year and complain cause they're not getting the Porsche the kid across the street is getting.

Harden, Zito, Haren, Blanton, Loaiza is a pretty solid rotation. But the A's certainly (assuming similar payroll restrictions as years past) shouldn't be blowing 7M on a 5th starter.

Don't see how the Eyre singing's redundant. Williams may be on the move. Perhaps the Cubs can get Wilkerson. The Eyre signing affects Ohman more than it does Rusch. I'd rather keep Ohman but if he is part of a deal for an OF than so be it. I'd imagine Ohman would be pretty attractive to a lot of teams due to his experience, price and Lefthandedness. I see the pen shaping up this way: Dempster Howry Eyre Williamson Wuertz Williams Rusch This assumes that Baker will yet again go with a 12 man pitching staff and that Hendry is serious about having 7 starters and going out and getting another SP arm. This makes Novoa and Ohman expendable in trades. No Ohman?? If Ohman gets left out so Dusty can have 2 guys he pitches for 3 innings once every 2 weeks, I'm gonna be....not so happy.

Has anyone else noticed that all the ND haters are arguing against are straw men? No ND supporter in this thread or any other thread are making any of the ridiculous arguments that ND deserves something just for being ND, that God on their side means they're the best team in the country, it's all just fringe absurdities that helps make your argument better.

Tech has no legit argument, they aren't very good. And you're sure gonna piss off with the team you left out there. :) But the argument that it's pathetic that ND makes it at 9-2 makes no sense. Since after next week, there will in all likelihood be 1 legit 1 loss at-large team. So would it not be pathetic for other teams to be 9-2 and make it? If you wanna argue against ND (again) then make a legit argument don't cite their record without context and claim it's pathetic.

The Blue Jays haven't been close to the playoffs in awhile. Tougher division or not, they do not have the appeal of a winning club over the Cubs. Pretty bad move by Ricciardi. -
Syracuse Orange is pretty horrible. I like my high school's nickname, but it is kinda glorifying the worst parts of Catholic history being the Crusaders. Still rather be a wrongful murderer than the girl's school next door...Mighty Macs.

I believe Macias is Hendry's supreme emergency plan. Whereas if he can't get any of his potential bench guys to sign, he'll hold on to him, but it'll take about 5 other guys going elsewhere to keep him on this team.

People aren't upset at having Howry. People are upset at having Howry, Eyre, Neifi, and Rusch instead of Giles, Cedeno, Novoa, and Hill.
