  1. In how many games?? I bet it was more than 118.
  2. I haven't a clue why anyone would want to see a current player from their team on the list. Especially one you have locked up to an epic contract. Oh, and Tim Tebow.
  3. I seem to recall in the last Kuroda thread, I said he'd be a spectacular failure. I stand by that.
  4. Thanks for making my argument guys. Trammell is stuck with Barry Larkin in the great hitting SS at the wrong time of baseball's history category. Offense exploded when it was too late for these guys. Additionally their careers coincided with Ripken and Smith, and it's gonna add up to both of them getting screwed out of the HOF.
  5. If this is true then Carlos Zambrano is really unconfident(definitely not a word), and has negative killer instinct.
  6. What did Matt Damon ever do to you?
  7. So your answer is that I don't have anything to do with them becoming MLB pitchers but again, what does your statement say? Do you still say that this statement you made is true? yeah. 99.9% of high school pitchers have nothing in common with MLB pitchers. Where did you get these numbers? Sounds optimistic to say that 1 out of 1000 high school pitchers make the majors.
  8. Can you make every other HOF voter vote for Alan Trammel while you're at it?
  9. As a contrast you have the Yankees holding to Chamberlain, Hughes, and Kennedy. You sound dangerously close to "trade away all prospects for guys in the majors" and that strategy isn't going to work unless(ironically) you have a 200M payroll. Pre-FA players are the most valuable commodity in baseball. Trading them all away because we've had horrible drafting and developing over the past 15 years doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Especially when it was as recent as this season that 3/5 of our rotation was homegrown. That's not to mention of course Geovany Soto.
  10. Pretty sure Livan is a FA. I don't really like the return for the As. Gonzalez is a stud prospect, but the rest I'm not too excited about, and it just seems like quantity over quality which I'm not a big fan of. Especially when you factor in how cheaply Haren is signed for the next 3 years. I'm not saying they needed some Pirates-esque return of a guy who has a year of major league experience and is a mediocrity, but I'd have rather had somebody who was more of a sure thing to produce at the major league level than Gonzalez and a handful of take your chances.
  11. and in fact, this leads to the idea that "choke artists" cannot exist at the major league level, just as "clutch" does not? I wasn't going to mention that cause I didn't want to take the thread another 25 page, but that's correct. If there are people out there that simply freeze under the pressure of hitting in a big spot, they'd have never made it through the minors to begin with.
  12. He'd have to be an idiot not to. Sammy is a decent conversational English speaker. He is not proficient enough to give testimony to the US Congress in English.
  13. Half the Carolina Panthers...oh wait.
  14. If the Cubs go to the playoffs again, Hendry won't be fired in the offseason. If they don't, I think it's pretty likely he is.
  15. While I disagree with Cuse as far as Prior's toughness, you can look a player's makeup (6th tool, IMO) and get an idea of how mentally tough he is, how he handles failure, etc. Which I can understand when it comes to drafting and developing. But when you're talking about a guy who's been through all that. (Talking 10 years of it with Hill) don't you think the weak minded ones have been pretty well weeded out?
  16. Dusty Baker.
  17. They aren't really accurate comparisons because Bonds was the 1st big name. The 1st one always takes it worse than the next guy because it's not as big of a deal anymore. That said, Bonds was only the first because they seemed to hunt him down
  18. I am shocked at the results.
  19. There's syringes in that bat!!!
  20. It's kind of weird that nobody seems able to bust him. Seriously...we're talking about Sammy-freakin'-Sosa, and he he keeps making out like the Teflon Slugger. Indeed. He must have a iron clad supplier. All this report says to me is that Sosa was way smarter than I gave him credit for. So despite there being zero evidence of Sosa juicing, you're going to keep on believing it no matter what happens.
  21. This is why this is a huge waste of everybody's time. Nobody's going to be exonerated ever because people have their personal beliefs on who was using and they'll never let them die. Not on the list? List must be a joke.
  22. Aaron and Maris are only clean cause there was no testing.
