  1. Good to see you back on the board and in the country Jehrico. I'm gonna disagree that it's a good thing for Bedard to be a Cardinal. I understand it's 2 years of him vs. 6 of Rasmus, and that Rasmus looks like he'll be a stud, but Bedard is a stud already, and in the NL I think he could be filthy for years to come with the Cards. Rather they spend their money on Izturis and Aaron Miles than locking up a guy like Bedard.
  2. Don't blame me, this was my contribution to that thread. But yeah when you're choosing between Izturis and Theriot, Theriot's a no doubt winner. When you're choosing between many options on the trade market and Theriot, different story.
  3. Costas should be commissioner of baseball Just ask him.
  4. In the Rose Bowl right?
  5. I don't know about Farnsworth, but I'd love to have LaTroy in the bullpen. Just not for 3.75M. He was decent when not closing games for us. Then he flipped the F out against the Cardinals in 04 and never really was decent after that. Man...just took a closer look at his numbers. When did LaTroy forget how to strike people out? And how did he do so well in Colorado without such mediocre k #'s? Very very good defense. I'm glad to see LaTroy get one last payday.
  6. Meph has officially joined Bowl mania on http://games.espn.go.com/bowlmania/frontpage Now's your chance to take him on one on one.
  7. Roberts wasn't on their Series roster. http://retrosheet.org/boxesetc/2004/UPBOS32004.htm That roster only lists guys who got into world series games. It has 20 guys listed, 12 position players. I'm pretty sure Roberts was on the roster.
  8. that's because florida's receivers are d-bags Do they wear crocs like dreamboat Tebow?
  9. Hendry doesn't see Fukudome's OBP. All he sees is his left handedness. Untrue. He also sees that he has speed and is Japanese.
  10. Assuming we lose Shard, I'd say Mizzou (-4)
  11. That is altogether irrelevant. So we're going to give him a 1 year deal to sit on the bench until June-July? If I'm keeping Prior on this team I want complete leverage. I want Prior under contract this year, and I want the team to have a team or mutual option for 09. He's not going to give us that, so trade him and keep the $2.8M free to make some moves. There is no reason to put this much time and effort into this guy right now. Then you have 2.8M free to make invariably stupid moves.
  12. Rolen and Inge are only bats in the sense that they come to the plate holding them. Great gloves though, Milwaukee should be looking that way.
  13. Bruce Weber preparing for Arizona assuming no Shaun Pruitt. Barring Brian Carlwell waking up from that coma, this is probably gonna be ugly. We're gonna have to run the whole game, rapid substitutions, serious minutes for Davis and Cole if we have a chance for anything.
  14. Speaking of not understanding what market value means.
  15. It'll just be cooler then when Schiano ditches UM for PSU.
  16. I do not believe this is meaningful over the 162 game season. I think it could be over a significant part of the season. Teams have similar off days during the season. 8 times out of 10 there are two 3 game series per week for each team. The off days vary from Monday to Thursday. Those obviously even out unless teams skip their 5th starter, which doesn't happen too often. The only thing that really throws this off are injuries, rainouts, and the AS break. The difference isn't much between a #1 and a #5, as they are on back to back days. But the difference between a 1 and 3-4 can be seen throughout the season. Not a huge sample size, but a few years back I went through some game logs of about 5 pitchers(on different teams), and their starts were pretty normalyl distributed against 1s through 5s
  17. A couple people here are talking like Tejada's contract is some sort of burden. Tejada is cheap at that price. Baltimore's been bizarrely desperate to dump Tejada, and unless they have some inside PED info, I really can't figure it out. In earlier Tejada threads, I kept preaching that he was gonna come really cheaply, and even if this deal doesn't go through, he's not gonna cost much. He's the type of guy we actually could get with one of our trademark fantasy spare parts trades. (Theriot, Marshall, Patterson)
  18. And no, this isn't that big a deal, any position he's hired in probably wouldn't have too much pull when it comes to making transactions. It's just a horrible horrible sign about the philosophy of the front office that a proven no good worthless loser like Littlefield is worth employing.
  19. I sense a new word filter is upon us! I'm not sure referring to people as "flippy dippys" is really much better. Calling them Glendon Rusches isn't much better, either. Your avatar features a nice set of Rusch. Your sig as well.
  20. There's always a buyout.
  21. So Taguchi > Skip Schumaker.
  22. It doesn't bother you that they're even considering paying Dave Littlefield money to do anything with regards to baseball?
