  1. He hasn't been throwing strikes ever since he showed up in Mesa this year. To be honest, I'm worried he's hiding an injury. his velocity seems to be fine. I think he's mechanically a mess right now. Give him some time in AAA to get back on track. He'll be fine. Listening to Lou last night, I think he's going down. He said something to the effect of "I can start Hill anymore, not like this" or whatever. Rich Hill's not gonna see the big leagues again til August at the earliest, and it'll probably cost us the division.
  2. Ridiculous. Hill is a frigging major-league pitcher. He should be able to throw strikes after skipping a start. He had side sessions and bullpen work. It's not like he didn't pick up a baseball for six months. Why are people here to ready to apologize for certain players and so ready to jump all over coaches? Because the Cubs' handling of Rich Hill relative to the horrible performance of our 2 cagey veterans who've also sucked is absurd??? BUT BUT BUT Marquis and Lilly have track records!!! SO DOES HILL!!! Hill was a very good pitcher the last year and a half, but for some reason he's been jerked around since day 1 this year. Lou Piniella gave up on Hill in game 3 last year, and he's never forgiven him for it. Lou is a huge douchebag and doesn't know what the f he's doing.
  3. What I find interesting is Dusty and now Lou has handled him the same. It's not a coincidence. Only Lou's a bigger douchebag, and Dusty was a bigger tactical buffoon.
  4. lol The Giants wouldn't do that deal for Lincecum alone, and no packaging in Barry Zito isn't going to make them trade Lincecum. You're clearly missing the point. Of course they wouldn't do it for Lincecum alone. Zito has tremendous negative value at this point.
  5. I doubt it. I'm guessing the reason IU is down to 4 scholarship players is because they want their program to be as clean as possible when the NCAA report comes down this summer.
  6. He couldn't tear it any further but playing full speed on it coulda done damage to his knee, his quad, lots of stuff.
  7. I'm just leery of counting on JUCOs to be contributors right out of the gate.
  8. You'd rather Keller start over Tisdale? I'd like McCamey Smith 2 of Meacham/Brock/Davis Tisdale Then when Legion gets in the swing of things, say end of January bring him with DMac and Jamar.
  9. I'm disappointed in Rich's performance. I'm more disappointed in the way he's been handled by the incompetent boobs that run the show.
  10. Which would be outstanding since Lieber's gonna be the guy to the rotation, that way the 2 Seans can rot in the pen and never pitch. Chad Fox's arm might burn out even faster this way.
  11. Yeah the Big 10 is going to get good with all the coaching talent it's brought in. It won't be next year though. 5 teams tops in the tourney.
  12. With Freeman leaving along with Indiana's entire team along with Northwestern being Northwestern, even the most pessimistic of Illinois fans has to have us at least 8th. I'm cautiously optimistic, but I'd be shocked to see us lower than 6th (Michigan has no help coming in and Penn St. loses Claxton)
  13. You'll see that we have no problems with other fans that act like yourself. Wolf Stansson is a Cards fan who's been around here forever. There were a few other Cards fans who used to hang around more often, not much anymore. Ender's a Brew fan who's been around for about a year. Jake's a Pirates fan, there's a Yankees fan, etc.
  14. Why did the Illini lose players too? You guys were doing all the talking last year. Haha yeah...
  15. Yeah it's outrageous to think the 2 vastly more talented teams won't both simultaneously blow it because after all they can't tell people to count the ringz!! lol goat
  16. I thought it was Jake Fox from the headline. This somehow made even less sense than that.
  17. Bobby Valentine FTW.
  18. Good for Crean. I gain some respect for him. It's gonna be quiet around here next season.
  19. While I doubt any Cub fans are upset that we don't have to face Gallardo anymore this year, I think most of the mocking is aimed directly in Yost's direction. Or ElCaballo's.
  20. And Soriano? Seriously, people. Listen, I'm the biggest Soriano hater. I was the leader of the anti-sorianos in the thread on his signing, but to want to bench him or "get him off this team" is just ridiculous. People have become so reactionary here its unbelievable. Soriano is the team's best option in LF. he's not playing as well as theriot or cedeno, though, so he should ride the pine for a while. I don't sense any sarcasm here, but there just has to be some.
  21. "Pie has no trade value at this point", they should've traded him at the beginning of the season when teams were lining up. If "Pie has no trade value at this point" then every other GM is an idiot too.
  22. Ronny over Theriot is not a marginal difference.
  23. Wasn't Ian Stewart getting some time at 2B in the minors?
  24. In the physical sense yes, the Cards will be here til July. In the sense of hanging around in the race, I don't think the Cubs and Brewers have that kind of choke job in them.
  25. A million times yes. There's not a time when I see him that I don't want to see him locked in a dungeon and tortured by mole people.
