  1. Trading Pie because you have Reed Johnson is like cutting off your manhood because you have a finger.
  2. I'd argue Soriano had great range in LF last year. I believe the defensive metrics(which I'm leary about) agreed with my eyes.
  3. Les Walrond has given me far more entertainment than he had any right to. Here's to Les.
  4. Rondo is shooting too much.
  5. He called it a good play by Uribe. He didn't deny that Huff was safe, but he certainly didn't agree with Jackson when he said the Sox got a break.
  6. I agree. This font thing needs to stop.
  7. Your 2nd sentence doesn't follow from the first. It sounds like you're saying Mars would sell off the naming rights to Wrigley Field.
  8. To get Dunn the Cubs have to move Soriano or Fukudome to CF. Can Griffey still play CF? Griffey can barely play RF.
  9. Who's slated to pitch the 3rd inning?
  10. Wouldn't the right thing be to fire Dusty now?
  11. Hairston started at SS tonight. That had to be interesting.
  12. Toronto pays Thomas. Oakland pays him whatever he signed for (probably near the minimum) The move makes sense even if they are rebuilding because it gives them an .800 ops guy for free. So he gets paid twice? So it pays to sign a big deal, suck, hope to get released and sign somewhere else? That cant be right. The pro-rated minimum that Oakland pays him is deducted from what Toronto owes him.
  13. I could see Theriot peaking later than a normal curve because he wasted time switch-hitting in the minors. But again, his peak, even hitting from one side isn't close to Cedeno's. Theriot might just be a useful piece after all though, which I was starting to doubt.
  14. Holy crap, didn't know this was a day game. Thank you Plasmas at work
  15. Winner winner chicken dinner.
  16. what is this? BA/OBP/OPS? If the 750+ is slugging, that is completely insane. If it's a 750 OPS with a 400 OBP, that's also pretty insane.
  17. Upton and it's not particularly close.
  18. I'd be pretty stunned to see Fukudome dropped below 5th or Soto dropped to 8th ever this season.
  19. Serioiusly? After 3 weeks of the season we have changed our minds and Theriot is acceptable? There is no way that anyone can say that the past 20 games have changed anyones true talent. Thats ridiculous. With Cedeno also on the roster, Lugo is not needed as much. I would do that trade, provided the Cubs could flip Lugo to another team. Hey, I'm all for starting Ronny at SS permanently, but as we saw today hes behind Theriot on the depth chart. I'm not sure today really showed that. Lou seems to be a believer in lineup positions and sees Theriot as a better fit for the 2 hole. If he plans on putting Soriano back at leadoff, then I could see him filling the 2 spot with Pie/Johnson.
  20. I agree. Just a question, how close was the game winning run. I'm just curious if Fontenot scored where Soto wouldn't have. There was no play on Fontenot. Hawpe went away from the play to get it, but I'm still not sure Soto scores. There's definitely a play on him at the plate.
  21. i hate myself because I believed you for like 3 seconds. Wow.
  22. My personal records are keeping Lou at 99 after tonight.
