  1. There's nothing pretty about Adduci.
  2. He must have meant 2 games. Which is good for Gooney since he'll be able to see his 2nd favorite team play his Mets 4 times at Shea. :-" at his favorite stadium to boot.
  3. Should I stand Verlander tonight against the Rangers with Vicente Padilla going?
  4. Speaking of which, whither John Rodriguez?
  5. Mets go Reyes, SS Beltran Jr., RF Wright, 3B Beltran Sr., CF Delgado, 1B Easley, 2B Clark, LF Casanova, C Figueroa, P At the risk of Lilly giving up 12 runs in the 1st, that is not a good lineup we're facing.
  6. If they did, we'd have the best offense in major league history.
  7. Should I assume Theriot's back is still an issue?
  8. Thanks for the numbers, soccer - logically I knew that it couldn't be a crazy high percentage, but it did seem like he was always on base to start the game that year. He's still just a mediocre-at-best player when it's all said and done. Still, having a guy leadoff the game with an OBP like that certainly is nice. It is, but it's not nice that your table setter has a below average OBP the rest of the way. True. The first inning is a nice tone setter though and getting that first score is a good thing, along with the leadoff guy on in that inning. I wonder what the Sox record was when he scored in the first and what it was when he didn't. What the hell, my boss is off today, here goes: 19-6 is what I came up with, though my counting skills may have been off. I'm not sure how much different that is compared to the records of any team who scores in the first. Not willing to go through those numbers.
  9. Ran out of Eddy Curry jerseys? I like playing defense. And have range beyond 2 feet. And am not 350 pounds. My boss owns an Eddy Curry Knicks jersey. In addition to the Knicks, she's a University of Texas, Packers, and Cardinals fan. She's a horrible human being.

  11. That was kinda my plan. If he's into June and has his ERA sub 2, I want him gone.
  12. I can't believe Chad Fox is back pitching again. And the fact that he's doing it for the franchise that tried to murder him live on the field. I hope he can make it back somewhere(as I doubt he makes it with us, other than in September if there's room) I should probably find a way to go see Rhee before he gets moved.
  13. Gomez, Guerra, and Mulvey are all better prospects than the ones you listed for the Cubs. In Gomez and Mulvey's cases much better. (And I don't even like Gomez much) Marshall is better than Humber though. A similar deal is probably something like Pie, Gallagher, Ceda, and Petrick.
  14. Not a chance in hell.
  15. Yeah, I don't like your chances with regards to Lilly. And I think he'll bounce back to have a decent year, but he's dug too big a hole at this point. My baseball gambling thus far has been limited to $100 on the Cubs(-3) vs. White Sox overall season record.
  16. Is their pen that horrible that he couldn't use someone else for 1 day? It's not awful. David Riske shoulda been there to close it out. They have 9 guys down there, and he was planning on using the same guy, with an injury history, 5 games in a row. This after watching him pitch terribly in the 4th game.
  17. I played probably the best game of pick-up in my life last night in my KG jersey. Pretty sure that settles it. I think it's really difficult to give the MVP to a player in the east because of how bad it is. When you have the majority of top teams in one conference, it seems off to me to give the award to a guy who played against the weak competition twice as much as the strong. I'm a believer in the Celtics, and think they'd have a decent chance in the Finals should they get there. It's also not KG's fault that he's playing 2/3 of his games against weak competition. But it's hard to take his stats at face value compared to what Kobe or Duncan or whoever are doing against clearly better competition.
  18. Yep Yost said Gagne would pitch in a save situation yesterday. He's the biggest idiot ever. And Adam Dunn without the walks?? So not Adam Dunn then?
  19. That you, Marty? I was gonna say that... An absurd ending to a post that could've made sense.
  20. Yup, Corey never cared. He actually wanted to fail.
  21. Brenly's pissed that there was no balk call there. I'm terrible at picking up balks so I'll listen to him. Comeon Geo.
